Good news: once you pick the date and venue, everything else is downhill. I got engaged in Sept '10 and we're getting married in Sept '12. The way I look at it is this: you'll never ever again be engaged, so take time to enjoy every moment.
Just remind yourself: Long engagements = the best engagements.

THIS!! FH and I got engaged 12/24/09 and we still dont have a definate date set yet.. We're kinda dragging lmaooo. Like CandiRose said.. ENJOY this time!! It's going to fly by!!

Me too...absolutely doable! Even if I had years to plan I still wound't have done anthing any differently - it all worked out perfectly. Don't stress, just chip off one thing at a time and it will all be fine!

The problem with Saturday nights is everyone wants them, and there's only so many. And prime dates will book faster. Try to find the best features about different dates and times, you never know what you will fall in love with

Im gonna say it since no one else did (particularly since we have friends with the exact same issue) do NOT procastinate! What type of place are you looking for? Maybe start a new post asking for a specific list of venues with a price range.
I saw in another post you wrote that you liked NHP Inn. Have you called: Gorgios East Wind Chateau Le Mer North Ritz Club The Royalton
Im sure there's more but Im not having that many guest so I dont know first hand.
Also, to save yourself some stress start narrowing down which photographer, DJ, Florist companies you want. Write there numbers down next to them and ask for quotes on here from other ladies. Also a lot of the vendors on here will give you quotes through forum mail... Even if you dont have your date at least you can get a ballpark.
This all can be very stressful, I dont say that to worry you but to help you. Whats worked best for me is being very organized about it. List, Spreadsheets, etc.

Don't stress! We're doing 2013 and it's great because I was able to get all the main vendors I wanted and it gives my broke *** some time to save money!
