Stressed out!

My engagement party is Saturday and I just want it to be OVER! The party was supposed to be given by my FMIL, but now all responsiblity has turned over to my FH and myself. Not just picking up party stuff, but painting her house, re-tarring her driveway, landscaping etc...More stress than its worth. I am exhausted and I just want it to be over. Is that terrible? I hope I dont feel this way before the wedding. Thanks for letting me vent!

Re: Stressed out!

Don't worry. Try to enjoy your party no matter what. The memories are worth all of the trouble. Believe me. Just take this as a life lesson- don't let your FMIL 'throw' parties for you anymore :)

Re: Stressed out!

Don't get too stressed. Our EP was last weekend, and although it cause alot of tension (we called off the wedding twice, not broke up)- we had a blast. We started planning it a week after we were engaged and had the party 2 1.2 mths later. It will all come together. If your friends can help it will make things go along faster. Good luck, and remember you only do this once. (hopefully)

Re: Stressed out!

I think its ok to feel this way. I mean, its one thing to maybe help out a little and pick some stuff up, but re-tarring the driveway and landscaping? I think your FMIL is asking for way too much from you guys.

I don't blame you for feeling exhausted or stressed. I would feel the same way.

Just remember to breathe, keep your chin up and smile. I know--easier said then done. But, you will have a great party. Just think of that.
