Stressed out and not even our fault

So we mailed a check to our venue for our next payment and it never got there...we put a stop payment and issue a new one. Well we check our account and another 3k is missing....someone found that check that got 'lost' and opened an online gambling website and gambled away 3,000 dollars of our hard earned money. I'm so upset. We are paying for this wedding 100% by ourselves and it just doesn't seem fair that this is happening. We work so hard and some @$$hole decides they want to play black jack online and screws us. Our bank is researching the fraudulent activity, but in the meantime we are our the $3,000.00.

Sorry for the vent but I'm just so upset today. My fiance and I are fighting today about it because I'm so stressed and it's just a terrible day.

I'm so sorry that happened and hopefully those a-holes get caught. Hate to be them when Karma comes knocking on their door. Keeping my fingers crossed somehow you are able to salvage some of the money. Big hug!!! Ssssssqqquuueeezzzzzzeeeeee

Ugh so sorry you're going through this! Make sure you're on top of the bank and call every day to the point of annoyance to ask for updates. There's so much fraud in banks it's easy for your case to slip through the cracks. Karma will get them. Have a big old glass of wine tonight with your FH. So sorry!

Oh I'm pretty sure the bank knows my phone number now lol. I am trying to stay positive but I just want this done! Hopefully sooner than later.

Thanks everyone. Apparently they have an 'investigation open' and we should have an answer by the end of the week. I just don't know what is wrong with people. I would never think of stealing, I hope karma really bites them in the @$$

That really sucks! Luckily the banks normally side with the consumer in cases like this so its likely you guys will get your funds back. Try to stay positive and those people that stole your check will get what they deserve.

Sorry to hear about this. Usually banks will refund your money, especially when I'm sure the check was addressed to the facility.

It's not fun begin scammed out of money. FH recently had his credit card number stolen and the bank notified him within hours. Luckily it was only a couple hundred bucks, but it is scary.

I am SO sorry!! that just stinks...chances are very high that the bank will get you your money back, and the bank that cashed it should have never cashed it and that should be looked into. I know it doesn't help now,im so sorry :(

UPDATE! I am a happy bride again. FH bank credited his account. They are still investigating the fraud but gave us the credit. Phew. I can finally breathe!
