Stressed out - total rant sorry in advance !

Totally stressed - going to try and write this rant without getting too specific bc I don't want to name names.

Basically we have been in talks with a few vendors for one particular service since the beginning of June. We liked one loved the other but the one we loved was significantly more expensive. The one we loved came down a little in price a few weeks ago and then recently reached back out to us saying they could come down even more (very excited!) there had been multiple conversations regarding what we were looking for and it has been expressed to more than one employee. We then gave them a bottom line price that we could afford and said if you can do this- send the contract. Well they did but there were things missing from te contract that we had previously discussed. I finally was able to speak to someone today and he told me that they couldn't do two of the things that were previously mentioned for that price and that there had been a miscommunication. Well now it's about 1000 over what we said we wanted to pay if we are to go with them.

Honestly I am so stressed I just want to throw my hands up in the air say f it - and give up the reigns on planing the rest of this wedding and let FH do whatever he thinks (I know I'm being a little dramatic but it doesn't help that I'm totally pmsing as this is going on)

It's just a total let down - I was literally tearing up at my desk today because we were so excited to be able to book this vendor and now I don't think we can

No worries everyone needs to vent once in a while! I noticed that with a few vendors unfortunately. They tell you one thing then change it. I've learned to get everything in writing!...hope everything works out!

Always get everything in writing! So sorry you're going through this. That's why I always try to correspond via email with people and when meeting in person, always writing everything down. Just call them and say you're sorry but you cannot give them your business and try to move on. You dont want to put yourself in the poor house for a wedding. Who knows, they may come back at that point and say okay fine we'll do it! Good luck!

We do have the majority of it in writing that's what's so frustrating. It was just th past grew days that it was done on the phone because he wasn't in the office and I was commuting home from NYC

I am usually so good about getting EVERYTHING in writing to because I negotiate media for a living I even had a car salesman ask me if I worked for the irs because I asked him to confirm so much in writing- lol.

Thanks ladies-! I already feel a little better I just got so upset because it was such a total let down

This happened to me but i loved the vendor. I resent them the email highlighting what they offered and said you have to provide XYZ for this price because you stated it once before and its not my problem that you had a misunderstanding. I told them I would report them to BBB and you best believe they gave me what I wanted. I did talk to the owner and they were so apologetic for their secretary's misgiving to us and were very upset that we were upset. they did right by us and gave us a few extras to make up for the stress!

dont stress all will be ok!!!!!!!

I just sent the vendor a detailed timeline of our conversations as well as a 10pg word doc as backup for proof of our discussions - hopefully something comes out of that, if not we are going to move on.

You did all you can do, I would wait for a response and if it's not what you were promised initially, time to move on! You don't want to have to worry about things changing the day of and feeling like they don't stick by their word!

Good luck! That is so frustrating. I would not back down though. They said they could provide the service for the stated price they were sneaky to send you the contract without all you discussed.

I would make a note to explain to them how unprofessional it is to say they would do something, send the contract and then say oh no we cannot do this...That gives them a bad rep in the industry and they would not want that....hoping you can find a middle with them!!!

It’s definitely understandable to be stressed – especially when you’ve had your heart set on this vendor.

I got stressed because one vendor screwed up our contract twice and we had to send it back and forth for corrections. It was frustrating and I frankly just didn’t want to deal with it, but thankfully it all worked out but in the end. Signing contracts and spending thousands of dollars can be pretty overwhelming!

No matter what type of vendor this is, there are a lot of other great options out there. You have to think about how important it is to you to get this specific one and how it would affect the day overall. Good luck!

I just received an email from them - because of the hard work i put into the email i sent them this morning (was a 10 pg attached word doc with every email in chronological order) plus a bulleted timeline of our conversations - they are going to give us what we want! YAY!
