The Church. They want 1500.00 to get married there. What do I do?

oh my i did not know it was that much theses days. are you a parishoner or FH? maybe ask for a breakdown of costs and see which you can get your own at a cheaper cost- not 100% sure

I would have to pay the church, the clergy, the organist, the wedding coord, the custodian. I called and thats what they said their price was I am beyond upset. What other options do I have. I relly am not sure about getting married at the RH.

maybe someone in family is an organist ? do you have any priests in family or a deacon that can do the ceremony? just some ideas....

That seems a little steep. Usually when you pay the church, the priest, organist, etc in included. My FH and I are getting married in a church that neither of us are members, and we are asked for a $100.00 more of a 'donation' that members. Is there another church you can look into?

Wow. that seems a bit high for a church. Some RH's don't even charge that much. Would that be an option for you guys? Getting married at the RH?

That is nuts! Our synagogue is just asking for a donation in order to use the temple. I think it might be $500, but it is also tax-deductible because it is a donation!

I couldn't believe it. not to metion the 'wedding coord' was such a nasty biotch. If I do decide to have it at the RH, where could I find a Pastor?

If you're not Catholic, then It would be recognized by the church, if you ARE Catholic, then that's something you need to take into consideration.

That is a lot of money... Unfortunately my church is charging the same thing!!!! Even though I think the price is ridiculous it is where I went to high school and I honestly cannot see myself getting married anywhere else in this world... It took me a while but I have decided that this is somethiing I am going to have to get over and just pay up. I have looked at a few other churches and nothing else compares for me....
