Stressing about my dress...

Stressing about my dress...

I feel like I spent too much money on my dress, bottom line. There's nothing I can do about it now b/c EOM has a no cancellation policy as do all bridal dress places...Up till now I've never 2nd guessed my decision but I feel like I could have gotten a really gorgeous dress for half the price :( I'm stressed about other things as well so maybe this is how it's coming through but I'm sitting at my desk and I feel sick to my stomach.

I am with you completely. Do you love your dress? People ask me the same thing and I say yes I love my dress but if you told me I could return it and continue shopping I would in a heartbeat. 1 because it is way to expensive and 2 because i don't know if I am that in love with it...now when it comes into my head the thoughts that you are having i just tell myself it is what it is. If i sit and think what if I will make myself more crazy than i already am about it. I don't know if I was any help! lol

Just letting you know you aren't alone!

I feel your pain, I really made sure i looked around at alot of places before i put down that deposit.

Unfortunately there is nothing that i know of that you can do, except after the wedding, put your dress up on a few websites, like craigslist, ebay, and sellyourdress.com

Not sure if that is something you want to do, but that is one way of getting back some of your money you spent.

Re: Stressing about my dress...

i feel the exact same way ..and i kinda feel it was selfish of me to spend that much on a dress that i will only wear one day ..

but on the other hand i saw my dress the other day in a bridal store and is completely amazing!
i love EOM dresses and my dress is my dream dress.

You can't stress the damage is already done

I saw this post and had to answer. When you put on the dress did you feel like it was the one, as soon as you put it on? If so dont worry about it, you will fall in love with it all over again once your gown comes in.
The more you keep browsing the more you will want to change it. It happened to me to but i stuck with the one i ordered an couldnt have been happier the day of my wedding.
Alot of girls go thru the same thing. I know how stressful wedding planning is, but try not to stress to much, you will look great..

don't look back and worrying about what what and if, or but's...its not going to help. You do love your dress i am sure, and at this point to worry about whether you should've spent less won't help.

Re: Stressing about my dress...

I know how you feel. Someone told me once that you must have bought the dress for a reason. There is something about it that made you buy it in the first place. With that said, I try to think of it like, I was in love with it at the time and Im hoping when I have my fitting I will feel that again! It was a lot of money and have looked at numerous dresses that were cheaper, but its too late. Just remember you bought it for a reason!

i feel the exact same way. I know now that i could have spent half as much money and gotten a dress that i love just as much, I have had second thoughts about my dress for a while, but its not in the budget to go buy a new one , and i couldnt sell mine. i think alot of girls go through this.

Re: Stressing about my dress...

I know what it feels to be stressing about the dress, except I'm not so much stressing about the cost as much as I am about the dress itself. I don't know that I love it, or if I ever did.....I see some of the dresses you girls have posted and then look at mine and get upset that I chose the one I did =( I chose it because my mom and sisters said it looked better on me than the one I was leaning towards, but ever since I put down the deposit, I've been having feelings of regret. But it's too late now, and I'm just gonna have to deal

Re: Stressing about my dress...

I think many of us feel this way. The way I think of it is I probably could have found cheaper flowers, a cheaper DJ, or a cheaper RH BUT when I chose each of these they were the best of what I had seen. It is natural that as you see more you will feel you should have done different;y. Since most of us dont plan the wedding full time instead of work, we have to make decisions in the time we have. Im sure you made a great choice. Maybe try not to look at too many more dress pics (oh yeah right, like we dont all search this site for such pics)
Im sure you will be gorgeous, even in a burlap sack, because you will be glowing with excitement.

Re: Stressing about my dress...

When I got my dress and they added up the total I was like...hmm, because I saw a dress that I liked for half the price but, I knew I would always regret if I didn't get it. My Mother calmed my nerves my saying that we can cut money from something else to compensate for it. Its your dress that you will have to look at the pictures for the rest of your life and lets face it noone will remember the flowers or the dj but, the will remember THE DRESS.

I feel the exact same way each time I put in a deposit or buy something for the wedding. I feel so guilty. At the same time, I love all the things we're getting. Sigh....

I'm sure your dress is a knockout! Enjoy!
