STRING QUARTET - COCKTAIL HOUR

Has anyone used/been to a wedding with a string quartet at cocktail hour? Franklin Wayne includes a keyboardist at cocktail hour but neither FH nor I are thrilled with that idea. Frank Wayne suggested a string quarter, and FH and I are both kinda liking that idea.

Anyone have any opinions, and more importantly, anyone have an idea of what a GOOD price for that is?

Hi,

I've gotten quotes from a few vendors. One of which I found on Craigslist. I felt a little weird so I asked them for email references. My band offered a keyboard also but i was like 'um, thanks but no thanks.' They have a piano in the foyer of our RH so I'll just have him play for the lobby. If you want, FM me and I'll send you over what quotes I've gotten.
I really want them to play songs from bands like Led Zeppelin, Coldplay and the Beatles. I also want them to play the theme to 'The Princess Bride'.

We are using Classical Chamberlin Ensembles. Sarah is very sweet and easy to work with and hteir music is beautiful. We are using them for the ceremony and for the cocktail hour and we have a flute, violin, viola and cello. For all that they charged us $1300. So if you want to use that for a reference I hope ot helps.

We used a string trio from Capriccio Ensemble for our ceremony. We didn't use the trio for our cocktail hour b/c the fountains at our site would have drowned them out. The trio sounded great. CE also offers string quartets, which we priced out as well. I'll FM you the info.

try vintage string quartet...I worked witht he founder, Francesca at school, she is very talented and her quartet is phenomenal! We are planning on using them at our wedding!

We are also using Capriccio Ensemble! Its worth calling them, Natalie is extremely nice and professional!!!
