STRING QUARTET OR ACAPELLA GROUP FOR CEREMONY?

Which would you pick? I am having a lot of difficulty with this situation, as my mother believes it's classless to have an acapella group perform while the wedding party and I walk down the aisle.

Acappella group would be so different and unique! Go for it! As far as class, I think that will be determined by the song choice!

I voted string quartet, because when I picture an a capella group I think it would be a little overpowering and show-stealing... it will command a lot of attention, while the string quartet will be more complementary. I think an a cappella group could be a cool thing to have for the cocktail hour or something if you want to do that.

Thank you so much guys, i feel like a million times better. I was thinking for them to sing stand by me for the party and only have eyes for you or my girl when I walk down.

I know of an amazing string quartet from the city! PM me if you'd like the info. I think they all went to big conservatories.

String quartet! So classy and beautiful. The acapella group is not appropriate for the tone of a wedding, imo.
If you go with string quartet I highly recommend the Capriccio Ensemble. I'm working with them and they are wonderful.

I completely agree with this. I love the idea of having the accapella group for the CH!

Oooooh, a capella is SO unique!

I majored in music performance, so I would have a hard time with either because I would analyze how in/out of tune they are...ESPECIALLY strings because it's very noticeable (this coming from someone that plays cello). I'd pick a cappella, but that's just because I think it's unique and because of my personal experience in music.
