Does anyone know what the average quote is for a String Quartet?
I just want one for the church, probably would need them for about 45 minutes the day of the wedding and then the day before for the rehearsal.

I looked into this for about 30 secs. Most places are upwards of $275 per musician, per hour, then $150 per musician for each extra hour. If you're interested, Venus Ensembles (venusensembles.com) is a great company, Jessica is so nice and helpful. HTH!

I got similar quotes to allegracristina, depending on type of musician. I really wanted a classical guitarist, he was 500 an hour.
If you are really looking to save but want a great classic effect, violin cello is a very good combo.

Vintage String Quartet is about $700 for an hour. I booked with them and they have been a pleasure to work with so far.

Yes I am using them in a few weeks and am paying $650 for the hour.

We used Classical Chamberlin Ensembles for our wedding. We had 3 piece strings and a flute. They played for the 1/2 hr. before the ceremony while guests were arriving, the 1/2 hr. ceremony and the cocktail hour. So altogether they played for 2 hours and we paid $1300. They were absolutely beautiful to listen to. HTH!
