Strollers or carriages

Just wondering everyone has or is planning to get in the area of strollers or carriages. I'm not a fan of the whole travel system, so I was hoping for some different options...

Just registered last night for the Peg Perego Pliko stroller & the infant carrier that snaps into it. I love the way a carriage looks, but baby grows out of it fast, they're pretty bulky & expensive. Solves my problem!!

just something to consider- if you will be walking the nieghborhood...then the carriage will be ok..if you have the room to store it...and plan on keeping it in storage for future kids as they are MUCHO $$...

if you will walking the neighborhood..and going to the mall..and going anywhere else mainly by car - the stroller is much more portable and easier to LIFT and such...
make sure to get a stroller that has a full recline- you will need that for infants

we have the chicco deluxe XL stroller- very durable (went camping with it!) and very easy to use and nice to look at as well

Re: Strollers or carriages

Dying for a carriage..a silver cross carriage to be exact BUT living on LR and needing to drive to places makes a carriage totally impractical.
I am getting a Graco stroller, not a travel system though. The infant carseat will fit into and lock into the stroller. Travel Systems can be very heavy and that is why I didn't get one, even though I fell in love with one of the Graco patterns in the travel system. Holy Heavy Batman!!!

Also, with a carriage the baby cannot see as much so when they get older I don't think they like them.
Oh, and getting a full carriage through an aisle at a store is near impossible.

Although I want one just to have it and to take a few walks in. And for a photo too...

I think in the beginning we will use a car carrier snapped into one of those universal bases.

Then when the little one grows out of that, on to a MacLaren- they are the lightest things, won't take up too much room in our apt. and are great for our crazy city life.

I think I finally found a travel system that I like...

make sure that you personally lift, close and open the stroller before you make a decision.
I found that some of these strollers can weight over 20lbs and that is a lot to lift in and out of a trunk a few times a day.
