we're planning the wedding for a saturday in August, and I've already tried town hall but they only have weddings on thursdays (near us) Lindenhurst, copiague area... I am willing to go to their location, we don't have a specific denomination. I'd really like to be able to find someone who can work with us & what we can afford, this is starting to really stress me. Any suggestions?>

Have you considered having a friend/family member get ordained online and perform the ceremony? Then it would be free ;)

I was just going to recommend this! You can find online ordination which allows for almost anyone to be able to legally perform marriages in NY State. Also I know the Judge in Amityville performs Weddings both at Amityville Village hall and on location..My family has used her before..not sure of cost though. Also any Captain or Mayor (or former Mayor) can legally perform one in NY so see if you know anyone that fits into those categories!

Just FYI Suffolk county doesn't recognize when a regular person gets ordained. My FH best man wanted his father to marry him and his future wife but they found out that he won't be able to sign the marriage certificate if performed in Suffolk.

I have thought about ordainment online through ULC. All the people I have asked so far have turned us down. :(
