I'm having the hardest time trying to figure out what to get FIL's for Christmas

What about a gift card of some sort...I usuallly do Home depot, or get him movies..he loves them..what does he like?

Oh I know! Me too. Not so much with FMIL but definitly with FFIL. Not kidding when I say they are the absolute most hardest people in the world to buy for.

they're so hard because they don't really do anything. I would get the gift cert. to a rest. but they live upstate, so i can't really swing that one.

get them an american express dining gift card! We give that when we don't know what to give and people love it b/c they can use it at any restaurant that accepts amex.

That is a good idea. My FIL always tell us they don't need anything. Well then what are we supposed to get you??? MY FFil Loves wine so every year I get him wine. But I wanted to get him something different this year.

My FMIL likes girly stuff, and in the past I've given her a gift basket from Bath & Body Works, a big comfy robe, stuff like that. You usually can't go wrong getting girly 'comfort' stuff for a woman. FFILs are a different breed entirely. Just get your FH to help with that one!

What about things for the house, like stuff at bed bath and beyond. MY MIL never buys anything for herself. I bought her new silverwear, because hers was about 27 years old and rusted falling apart. I also bought her new baking trays, because hers was about 40 years old rusted warped and decrepid. I guess this is why FIL have so much money, they keep stuff forever and never buy anything...wich makes it so easy for me when buying them presents

I also got her a new Henckles knife set, cause her knives were so old the handles were loose and they rusted beyond belief.

I also got them once, a great big soft throw blanket, for their family room. the blanket they originally had was so small and was as rough as sandpaper.

I know how you feel. Also Fi told me that his mom bought me a couple of gifts and said shes still not done shes getting me a couple more gifts. So i not only have to think of one gift to get her but i am gonna have to get her quite a few things.
