Student loans...who's got them?

When we went to school we never were thinking about paying for it! Ugh it is an ugly debt I feel we will be paying off forever on top of buying a house and saving for a wedding.
I heard they won't look at it when we try to get a morgage.

I know the feeling. I start paying off my student loans from my master's in a few months and on top of that, I already have a mortgage lol. Don't worry too much, from my experience (and I don't make all that much money) it's doable. It just feels like a lot at first. You just need to learn how to get on a specific budget. That's what I had to do or else I would be broke lol. My fh told me they do look at your student loans, unfortunately, when applying for a mortgage (he's in the mortgage business with Wells Fargo). He said to call him, and he'll talk to you about it all lol. He needs the business. Banks take in to account your total consumer debt (those are his words haha). Anyway, hope this helped a bit.

ive been paying my loans foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr im almost done with my college loan but now i have the phleb school loan n the med assing loan

I was very lucky that my parents were able to cover the cost of my college education. But the FH has college loans but they should be gone by the wedding!! Thankfully

I dont even want to think of how hard it will be to pay back my student loans (over 200k)

unfortunately yes i have them. i really wish i went to community college followed by a SUNY school (vs a 4 year private school), i would have saved soooo much money!!!

i've got one, FH doesnt. i view my student loan payment like FH's car payment, every month it has to be made, it *****, but we have to.

Yes...I took out loans for the first 4 years of my doctoral program...entering year (cough) 7, and, while I haven't taken any out in the past 3 years, I have to start paying those initial loans as soon as I graduate...had I known then what I know now, I probably would not have gone for a Ph.D.!

I have been paying for 2 1/2 years. I have 25,000 left, which is not bad since that includes my Bachelors and Masters Degree..but it seems like I will be paying it forever!

I have 6k left on my 2nd bachelors... DH will have MAYBE 10k in loans when we get married... chump change... it's all good.

Ihad about 27k when I graduated...but am almost done paying them...the payments are so low now I dont even feel it each month. When I lived at home I paid more than the minimum each month to get the payments down and debt paid off quicker.

I have student loans for all of my 7 1/2 years of college-associates, bachelors, masters. Unfortunately my parents were not able to help with any of my college, so i will be paying off my student loans forever

I have student loans....i'm not sure exactly how much is left on them, but i feel like i'll be paying them forever....bachelor's plus masters.

fortunately, FH doesn't have any loans

some of my classmates have $200-300k in loans from undergrad and law school

We don't have any anymore... DH had a scholarship that counted towards his bachelors/masters and had only about $6k in loans, which we have since paid off.

my parents helped me out a lot with college (i had a partial scholarship and was an RA which helped, but they covered the rest) and lucked out with a full scholarship to law school.
