stupid BC/ gyno question....

stupid BC/ gyno question....

lets say you've already had your yearly exam, but just want to get a prescription for birth control pill. Can you just call your doc and get it over the phone (like he can call it in to drug store or something). Or do i have to go in?? I don't need another exam, do i??

(its not for refill... for new prescription. Too broke to be on it before wedding )

You should be fine just calling your doc for a script, especially if she has prescribed them to you in the past. If not then, you might have to go in but you won't need another pelvic.

i was on it at one time with this doc... so he should have it in his records. I just stopped taking cuz it got too expensive.

just call and ask. Also ask if he'll give you the generic version. Some of the bc pills come in that version and it should be cheaper.

Since you were already on the pill before with the same doctor, he'll probably let you phone in the prescription -- though you might have to go to the office to pick it up.

My gyno makes me go for an exam every 6 mos. She may give me a 2month prescription of BC after the 6 mos, but no more than that. It might be in your benefit to go see your gyno b/c he/she might give you samples for free. My gyno, if she has, gives me 3 months of samples.
