Stupid Car Accident!!

So I'm tooling home on the 135, gettin' my game face on for some baking. Traffic slows down and I come to a stop. I glance in my rearview mirror and see that the person behind me has also come to a stop. Next thing I know... WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM!

Some toolbox rear-ended the car behind me, which then hit me, causing me to hit the woman in front of me!! So now my front bumper is cracked and the headlight is loose and I've got scratches (whatever) on my rear bumper! When the police got there, the toolbox said 'Well I was coming to a stop and then all of a sudden I hit something!' Yeah, it's a called a car! And then he was sort of snotting about how his car is brand new and he has to get it fixed. Well Mr Toolbox, had you learned how to operate the BRAKE PEDAL, perhaps we could have all avoided standing out in the cold and dark on the 135 during rush hour. Just a thought.

The woman in front of me was very nice and the guy behind me was very nice (and a tall drink of water at that) so it wasn't awful. But i'd like to kick that stupid toolbox right in his stupid head.

I got rear ended once; now I have the horrible and unsafe habit of looking in my rear view mirror everytime I hit my break to make sure the person behind me is stopping too (yeah like I could do something about it...)

I am so sorry this happened to you. I too, was rear ended once and it is scary. Everytime I sit @ a light or in traffic I always glance into the rearview mirrror. You never know what idiot is behind you (or a few cars behind you)...

That sux. I got rear-ended last year in my brand new car and I could barely drive it home. MY neck and back are still suffering too. His response was, 'Sorry man, I was changing the radio station or somethin!' Hi! Happy you're ok. Sorry about the incident.

wow...sorry to hear about your car being banged up a bit...but glad you're ok!!!

I can't stand these stupid drivers. I was recently in a car accident where a girl ran a red light. No not as it was turning red but a full one minute after it turned. I am sorry you had to deal with this. Here's some hugs!

Sorry to hear, especially this time of year & it doesn't help that the guy was such a jerk.

This actually happened to us on Sunday. We were sitting at a light (about 10 blocks from home) & I'm talking to bf & all of a sudden WHAM...I looked at him like, what the hell?!

He jumps out of the car & goes to the 'toolbox' behind us, who says sorry & starts to roll up his window. My bf says, UMMM, excuse me, you hit our new car. He said, I looked down because my coffee was slipping. We got his info & my car does not have too much damage, but it is so aggravating.

My neck & lower back was hurting some, although its gotten better today.

I do a lot of driving .. which has resulted in my being in many many many close calls because of stupid toolboxes!

Once .. we were stopped on the Southern State Parkway .. and the guy behind me (who had been tailgating for a few miles) just decided to roll right into the back of my car!!

I have also developed the habit of looking in my rear view mirror when traffic is stopping in front of me .. but there is something you can do for when that stupid toolbox may not be stopping .. or has not left himself/herself with enough room .. when the traffic in front of you is stopping .. make sure you begin slowing down sooner and leave yourself with enough room in front .. so you have more rolling room .. and never, never stop close to the person in front of you .. sometimes not possible .. but if you slow down sooner and leave yourself with more room in front .. you're helping to protect yourself .. worst case .. you still get hit behind .. but with the room in front .. you don't bang the car in front.

Tonight on the Belt Parkway .. there was a disasterous looking accident .. 1 car flipped over .. not sure how .. and probably don't want to know .. but it looked awful .. and this was on a straight, level part of the parkway!

Drive carefully out there everyone! We all take it for granted .. some more often than others .. but it's a dangerous thing we do when we get behind the wheel.

And since I'm on this topic .. can I just rant about how it pisses me off when people will not let others merge .. whether it be someone trying to get onto a highway .. or someone just trying to switch lanes .. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!

Hee hee, I called Spiro after I got out and checked my car and blah blah blah are-you-okay-cakes and I said 'Ooh Honey, one of the guys is really cute!' Spiro was all, 'That's nice crazy-girl-I -plan-on-marrying' So I told him I was okay and no, he didn't need to come get me, 'Did I tell you that one of the guys is really cute?' After an exasperated sigh he said 'Liz, car accident, you're standing on the side of the 135, FOCUS!'

And I was, I totally was... on the cute guy.

BTW to the rest of your post! I would've tried to faint in the hot guys arms (I'm so not the fainting type, and, I imagine, neither are you...but, still...I'm not ashamed to play my frail little lady card for a good cause!)
