Re: stupid florist issues

I used a wonderful local florist, Country Arts in West Hempstead - not too far from Westbury. They only do one or two weddings per day on any given weekend and she was willing to work with my budget and spend time with me to help me figure out exactly what I wanted.

Try looking at someone who is not a 'wedding florist' if you are picky. They might be better for you to work with. JMO

what????????

YOU are the client! what the hell? how could she treat you like that?

I got NONE of that from my florist. she has been awesome! and her prices are outstanding. I highly recommend Lynn from FlorisanLLC!

I'll be honest I met with someone who comes HIGHLY recommended here and I didn't like her at all. I think it's a matter of who you gel with. You could try simply stems who is also a vendor on here. They too do awsome work and they are so darn nice and bend over backwards to help you.

Ummm. . .well, , or I'll be edited!!!

I didn't have any issues either when I went there... they listened to all my suggestions and opinions and put together something really nice..
Maybe you should ask to work with someone else... Robert is wonderful!

Save yourself trip to others florists and go to John at Flower Michele. He has been great to work with and I cannot wait to see my flowers the day of the wedding.

Re: stupid florist issues

I would not work with any vendor who did not listen to what I wanted as the customer. All of my requests have been reasonable and appropriate. We had this problem with some of the dj's we interviewed... we didn't want any extras, just a dj and they looked at us like we had six heads and said, 'You can't just have a dj'. One company didn't even have, 'just a dj' package. I said, well, 'I think at 34 years old and after attending dozens of weddings I know what I want', said thank you for their time and walked out.

Personally, I would go elsewhere.

Heidi from Sugar Magnolias was great, and so was La Blossoms. I haven't chosen yet! I need to see a few more florists.

I loved George from Signature Florist. hmpena and Leese from '06 are using (and LOVE) him too. he listened to what I wanted and I am getting exactly that- what I want and what I asked for on MY wedding day.

some of these wedding florists think since they have the experience, they know what's best for you.

I had a similar experience as you and it sounds like it was the same woman. I told her flat out I like roses, but am not a huge fan of them and would prefer something else, but a few roses (spray roses or regular roses) were a-ok.

And what bouquet did she design for me??

An entire bouquet of black magic roses. What, was I talking to the wall?!?! I didn't like her or the place at all and went elsewhere.

Its whomever you click with. I think they need to understand what you are looking for and if someone can't do that when you tell them EXACTLY what you are looking for and show pictures, etc., they are not the vendor for you.

Add me to the list of Flower Michele fans. I think I met with the person you're talking about and she would not do one of the things I wanted, but when I went to John he said it would be no problem & they did it all the time. The prices were a little bit higher at Flower Michele, but I think I'll be getting exactly what I want. At the other place I'm not so sure.

I later took my ideas and budget to National Floral, and boy did they deliver! Check them out - Anna's fantastic!
