Stupid people

So, has this happened to anyone else?

I ordered my dress last week and was at a family gathering this weekend and showed a pic to a couple of (MY) female relatives and FSIL. Of course, I wasn't showing FH. But for the rest of the night, these idiots kept making blatant remarks about my dress. All very positive, but talking about the material, the cut, the shape, the style. And of course I'm too polite to say SHUT THE **** UP. I mean, FH is right next to me, stop commenting on the dress!!

I guess I made the mistake of assuming people would be smart enough to look at the pic and talk to me about the dress, but once I was sitting next to FH, it's time to zip it!!

I did the same thing with his family.. 2 weeks ago they were at my house for dinner and my FMIL started going on about the way the dress looked.. FH actually without me saying anything got up from the table and walked away.. when FMIL asked where he was going he turned around and told her away from the conversation because he doesn't want to know.. lol

this was my first thought, how many fh out there know what organza is? or a sweetheart neckline? or an a line skirt? mine would have no idea so I wouldn't b to upset. bit I also showed my fh pics of dresses I want to try on bc I want him to like it to but he won't know which one I get till pics before the ceremony. I was afraid he'd say something like all that lace makes u look like my grandmother's table cloth! lol but he was into the lace too!

Mine did too. My own mother blabbed to my fiancé that my dress was strapless when he was so sure it wasn't. Not that I regret taking my mom shopping but I was like omg mom!!!

because most people are idiots!

i honestly don't think i'm showing anyone my dress aside from my mom (obviously) and my MOHs. I just can't handle stuff like this!

This is why I only showed my dress to my two best friends....and my mom obviously, because she was with me!

No one knows anything about my dress except that its huge LOL
I just say, 'I'm not showing it to anyone until the wedding day'

They blab too! It's not even on purpose and they totally don't mean it, they just don't get it. It was my BM and MOH who were so chatty!

I just gotta take it with a grain of salt! It's not a huge deal in the end

I showed a few friends a picture of the dress, but not me wearing it. I've told FH a little about it ( I have a huge blabber mouth and can't help myself) but the reality is he has no clue what lace appliqués, cathedral trains, and illusion tulle even means.

I have been lucky, the people I have shown it too have not made any comments in front of FH about it.. Not even that I look beautiful.. If they want to talk about it they wait til FH is not around

I didn't know you weren't supposed to show FH! I have it hanging in my room, so he sees it all the time. oops! No one told me, maybe your friends didn't know either? No one at David's Bridal told me not to show FH.

Your FH probably won't even remember, or be able to put together the descriptive words to form a dress.

My grandmother literally sat at the kitchen table and described in full detail: color, details, shape, size, veil, EVERYTHING. I asked FH 10 minutes later about it and he had no clue what anything she said meant. He couldn't tell you the difference between tulle and lace.

Don't stress it! And try to be more discreet with the pictures, although it's SO EXCITING! :)
