I know this is a stupid question but what does Hand Canceling mean?

You know when you get a letter in the mail and the stamp has those squigly lines over it - to 'cancel' the stamp? Those lines are usually made when the envelope is run through the machine at the post office. Since wedding envelopes are often big and bulky, they sometimes jam in the machine. In order to avoid ruining your invites, you can ask the postman to hand cancel them - which means he takes a stamp and stamps each envelope by hand. HTH!

OhI never even knew that.
