I'm trying to figure out if Matthew is not reacting well to his formula, or has reflux. Can I ask you, I've always thought this is normal but now I'm questioning everything I think..... when you take the bottle away from your child to burp him/her, does he/she arch her back? Matthew does this alot.... some say when they arch their backs they can have reflux, etc.... I always assumed he just needed to burp....
So does your child sort of throw himself back when you are burping him/her? Is this just him telling me he is uncomfortable and needs to burp? Thanks.

Re: Stupid question about burping.
That is usually gas. You may need to burp him when you get to the 1/2 way point of the bottle being finished. I had to burp mu dauhgter every 5 min when she nursed since she was so gassy. My daughter had reflux too and I would definitely say the arching is related to the need to burp.

Re: Stupid question about burping.
Sounds like the baby has gas and is uncomfortable. I think I read that could be a sign of reflux but the baby would be spitting up all the time.If the baby can't burp or is crying and complaining, then they may have a problem with that formula.
