Stupid question about slips

Stupid question about slips

I have a very simple empire waisted dress. Its pretty fitting through the waist. Do I need to wear a slip? Im worried that the waistline will show. Ill attach a picture of my dress. The picture does it no real justice.

Unless you really need to wear one I think you could get away with no slip! If the dress is a little see through then I would wear one, but from the picture it doesn't look like that. so you can get away with not wearing one!

I wouldn't wear a slip. However, if the dress is see through and you need to, you might be able to get a strapless full slip (looks like a strapless dress).

I disagree about the slips....definitely try it on and see if you need one, doesn't need to be poofy just a plain slip. Have been to two weddings recenlty where the brides didn't wear slips and it was very noticeable and not in a good way. The first one was a winter wedding, the bride was wearing pantyhose and because the dress was a thinner fabric you could see the outline of the seam on her stomach (it was empire waisted). The second one was a more fitted dress, no pantyhose since she was wearing sandals and without a slip the dress didn't move as nicely over her shape and as she moved you could see the outline of her body (may have been ok if she had a perfect figure, but like many of us it wasn't). Just didn't look very polished....
Neither of these things may be important to you or even relevant, but you won't know until you at least try it.
There are lots of different types of slips, try some different ones to see if you need one or not.
