Okay ladies....I may be mocked and ridiculed for this questoin BUT ...
What is a garter for, how do you wear it and what do you wear it with????

A garter is to hold up stockings before there was pantyhose. You wear it on your mid to upper thigh. Where ever it is comfortable. In todays age of pantyhose or garterbelts they are rally just for show (or throwing) now. This is not a stupid question.

i don't know if its right or left but I wore mine on the left. you slip it on right over your hose

I really don't think your question is stupid.
I have a question though....
My flowergirl gave me a garter as part of my gift for my shower and I really want to wear hers but it doesn't have anything blue on it. We are not tossing a garter either.
Would it be stupid for me to wear 2 garters even when I am not throwing any of them? I really need to find something blue within the next 2 weeks.
I really like a NY Yankee garter and this is what I am thinking of going with as my something blue garter if I do it.
I'd love to hear your opinions. Thanks.

Wear as many garters as you like. One girl on here had the Yankee themed wedding and she wore 3 garters.
Besides, you FH will be the only one looking up your skirt that night

My cousin had so many garters given to her that ment a lot, that she ended up wearing 5. So go for it. No one will know. Just you and that is what counts.

Now, here's the kicker... I am a Yankee fan and FH is a Met fan. Do I have to wear a Met garter b/c that's what he likes or is it okay if I wear a Yankee garter b/c me and my family are diehard fans.
FH hates the Yankess so much he roots for the Red Sox when they play the Yankees!

Wear both lol i would wear one on either leg-would make for a really cute photo op if you sit on steps or a chair and hike up your skirt to show both.
