Stupid to have 3 stamps???
I just weighed my invite sample (with a small rsvp sized envelope in it as a gauge) on my work meter, and it came out to either $1.05 as a flat, or $.66 as a letter (which I'm not expecting it to be because it's square). So if it IS considered a flat, and that's accurate after I get it verified by the post office, I have two options:
But the bullet and do the two wedding stamps and pay $.15 extra per envelope (a total of $12.75-$15)
OR....
Use the King and Queen of Hearts ($.44 each), which I am obsessed with, and the Ram/Goat at $.17, and pay EXACTLY the amount I need, while getting the stamps I want, and a little nudge at FH with the goat
But will it look silly to have 3 stamps on the outside envelope? Do you think people will notice, or care?

Re: Stupid to have 3 stamps???
3 stamps is a bit excessive IMO... you can get the wedding cake stamp for .61 and maybe the rings for .44 and there you have your 1.05 (if it is in fact that exact price)

ITA ..... If I was 3 stamps I'd just think hey this must have been heavy/expensive ....people will spend 2.5 seconds looking at the outside and then throw it away .... BUT I know how you feel.
Do what will make you happy BUT wont break your budget.

I don't think anyone is going to be like 'oh my god, what was she thinking' if there are three stamps. I would imagine no one is even looking at the stamps at all. Do whatever you want.

I was lucky to only put 1 stamp on mine (had to spend a little more to do so but it worked out)... what would have bothered me more was to line up the stamps and have them on nice and even on the envelope... FH & I go crazy when something is crooked so putting on stamps would have taken us 2 yrs if we had to put more than 1 on each envelope
so its not so much what guests would think, but how much time and energy the process would have taken us

Re: Stupid to have 3 stamps???
Just got back from the post office and they confirmed my work meter that it will be $1.05
BUT that's because it was 2 oz. exactly, with the envelope that a shower invite came in as a faux-RSVP envelope. Since I have no idea if it's going to weigh more or less with the real envelope, I probably *shouldn't* buy the stamps yet.
I really hope it doesn't go up to 2.1 oz, because then it will be $1.22 to mail!

You can always use the king and queen stamps as your RSVP envelope stamps, no?

I thought it would look silly to have 4...which is what we ended up with, and in all honesty, it wasn't that bad, people don't care, I just cared about spending so much money on stamps!!

Re: Stupid to have 3 stamps???
I was going to do that to, but because I suffer from 'bad bride' syndrome a lot of the time, I didn't even think about it until the day AFTER the price increase!Really, don't stress about how many stamps are on the envelope. I must have received at least 30 wedding invitations in my adult life and I don't remember if they even had stamps! I think it's one of those details that we brides obsess over that no one else even notices.....

Well, this is what's going to happen.
I'm not going to buy them now, because I can't blindly trust that my actual invites will weigh the same as the sample. I mean, paper could be discontinued by then and be switched to a different stock, envelopes, etc.
I'll get my invites end of August/beginning of September and get them weighed, and they will in fact still be $1.05.
I'll go to buy the King and Queen, and they will no longer be made.
Such is the story of my life

Wait, I'm confused. Tessa wrote a post a few weeks ago regarding postage for pocketfolds and she quoted it to be 1.57 per invitation to mail. Did I read that wrong???

Re: Stupid to have 3 stamps???
Oh please 3/4 stamps is normal & doesnt look bad at all depending on the size of the envelope. I had a big envelope & they cost 1.60 per invite. So i actually had to use 4 & they still looked gorgeous. Believe me my invites were something i paid strict attention to since it was one of my fav's. I wouldnt have done it if it looked bad. BELIEVE ME. I refused to use an ugly angry man face (1.00 stamp the only type they have too.) on my invite i wanted the heart wreaths which are .42 which is why i had to use 4. Yup i paid a lil more but i didnt care. I got what i wanted. I put them in a smal box affect not across the top. HTH!

I've never looked at the stamps...ever! And...I just got an invite in the mail last week. Still didn't look at the stamp and you'd think since its one of the things I have left to do that I would have looked at it but, nope didn't look.Point is, it doesn't matter.
