yea... I wasn't going to use her anyway... but this just got me pretty annoyed... - My fiance and I are looking for a quote on invitations, I am a liweddings.com bride and found your information on that site.
We are interested in an invitation with pockets. I have a sample that we both loved, but it was far too expensive. it can be viewed here:
Prices for invitations run the gamut and similar styles from different companies can drastically differ. The more you have in your invitation, such as this one, with several cards in a layered style, are all die-cut to get that stacked effect—customization equals greater expense.
Perhaps the question to ask is what is your wedding invitation budget and how many do you need?
Talk soon, (vendor) *** used vendor signature and art -
Our budget on invites is $300. thank you, MEGAN
- Hi Meghan,
I regret to say that you are unlikely to find something similar in that price range. There are way too many components and the basic cost for just the pocketfold is between $1.50-$3.00.
I wish you the best, Elaine Sent via ***** BlackBerry -
Thank you (vendor) not to be rude, but for future reference, try and spell the customers name correctly. its a pet peeve of mine. do you happen to have anything in our price range? Megan - My apologies. BlackBerry auto corrects for me and sometimes things get by me.
You never did say how many you need. Quantity greatly affects overall cost.
(vendor) Sent via ***** BlackBerry -
between 80 and 100. - I would love to say yes, but I don't believe I can help you and would hate to have you come in only to be frustrated.
All the best, (vendor) Sent via ***** BlackBerry
-------------------------------
I only asked her if she had anything in case she actually DID, but she OBV spelled my name wrong in the initial email.. which was NOT sent from her bb. I know I was a bisch, but oh well.... spell my name right! ps- my name is in my email address too!

I'm also a Megan and I feel your pain! It's a name that many people (including relatives) can't seem to spell correctly!
I'm sorry things didn't work out with the vendor.

It stinks to not get what you want, but at least she was honest with you. I would have hated going there, falling in love with something and then not be able to afford it.

You can't get 80-100 invites for $300?! That's outrageous!

I don't see anything wrong with her response, and I think it's uncalled for to call her stupid. She was being honest and IMO polite in how she responded.
FYI, you may want to check out carlson craft invites, I got one that was a nice pocketfold and with 175 invites it ran me about $2.85/invite with the components by going through a woman that gives 30% off (same deal as Party City). A different look than the exact one you posted but if you want that exact look I think it will be more $$$... they have nice options though.

i wasnt going to answer this thread but here I am.
Do you know how many people misspell and mispronounce my name? My name is Cecelia or Celia- not Cecilia-Ceil-or Ceceil. Everyone makes that mistake and if I got crazy every time someone screws it up - I would be in the looney house
Also I think that this vendor was honest and to the point with you. You should be grateful that she didnt say yes I can do it and find out later that she couldnt- then you would be venting about that.
if you are looking for invites in your price point- you should try Dawn, The American Wedding, or Rexcraft. They have very nice invites in your range- just not pocketfolds.

Sorry but I have to agree - I don't think it's that big of a deal.

Re: stupid vendpr...
maybe she could have said how you could have gotten your price down. maybe instead of a pocket you could have just did a single layer invite? or maybe she had something similar in her designs that she wouldnt have to charge you a design fee. cant let every vendor annoy you-

Re: stupid vendpr...
I have to agree with the other girls that said its not that big of a deal. People spell my name wrong all the time. Perhaps you're just upset that she's not able to work with your budget and you're looking for an excuse to be annoyed with her. Its a business, she's not your friend. I think she was very professional in what she told you and at least she was honest. Pocketfolds are very expensive and the labor to make the invites is costly. You're looking to spend about 3.00each. Pocketfolds easily start at 8.00each.

Re: stupid vendpr...
Who cares if someone spells your name wrong? It happens. Being rude about someone writing your name wrong off by one little letter is just rude and not necessary. Strangers don't know its a pet peeve nor do they care.

Wait, are you annoyed with this vendor because she spelled your name wrong??? Geez, people spell my name wrong and pronounce it incorrectly every day!

Re: stupid vendpr...
i spent $303 alone on paper and pocketfolds...110 of them with all envelopes, and squares to seal the pocketfold and that was a sick deal.
this is not including all the glue i had to buy at $5 a box of dots, the 9 packages of rhinestones at $5 a piece and oh, how can i forget, the 30 hours of labor and love that went into making the invitation.
she wasn't rude in any way, she was honest.

Hey, at least she was honest with you.
My name is Jen, and people spell it wrong. I don't care because it isn't a big deal. You know how to spell it, that's all that matters!

Re: stupid vendpr...
wait, i am confused, where did you get the sample from? why not get a quote from that company and negotiate? I can definitely agree that it will take some searching to find the invites that are pocketfold within your budget. The construction is what costs a great deal.
you should look at Carlson Craft - they are very pretty.
