here's my gown--it's tulle on the bottom and quite fluffy
which STYLE of bridesmaid dress should i get? these are SAMPLES of the TYPES--NOT the actual dresses (i haven't gotten that far yet!!) btw...i'm thinking of claret.
should i get: 1) a LONG tulle bridesmaid dress such as this
2) a SHORT chiffon bridesmaid dress (to look similar to tulle) such as this
3) a tea length dress (no tulle or chiffon) such as this
4) a regular long gown such as this
PLEASE help me decide! i love so many different looks...

Re: Style of bridesmaid dresses???????
I like the long dress, the last one. Your BM are your back drop and IMO I think if you make them tulle like yours you will all mesh together. Though I do like the long dress with the tulle too. ooh I see your predicament

Re: Style of bridesmaid dresses???????
i'm trying to get all the pics to work...bear with me!
can ANYONE get these 2 to post?? #2) http://www.dessy.com/index.cfm?go=dresses&style=2026
My dress is silk and does not pouf out at all. My BM's are all wearing different Bill Levkoff 2 piece sets in Euro Navy Satin. So it is silk and satin -not matching. MY dress is in the first picture. The bridesmaid dresses follow. They (the skirts) don't pouf either but those are NOT the colors they will be wearing. (for some reason I cant save them in navy). The materials and styles complement each other quite nicely in person.
how did you save them?? i tried EVERYTHING! ETA--i just saw you got them from bridesave. great idea!

Re: Style of bridesmaid dresses???????
My girls wore the second of the two Dessy's-- the one with the ribbon at the dropped waist. It's a beautiful dress and very reusable. We got so many compliments on them, and most importantly, the girls themselves loved them. Onet hing: the dress is definitely tea-length. Don't let the tall model in the picture make you think it's a short dress.
IMO, the BM dresses should complement yours, but not mirror yours. It's nice if there's an element to tie it all together, but you don't want it to look like you're wearingt he same dress in different colors.
It's so hard, b/c there are so many beautiful dresses out there, and you have to accommodate different body types. Good luck with your choice!
ETA-- I'll try to post a pic later, so you can see the dress on 'real' people. Mine were in chocolate brown. The organdy fabric is just beautiful! And it's very light, so I think it will complement the tulle just as well as the chiffon.
I like the first one, it goes really well with your dress. Which is beautiful btw!! The BMs certainly don't have to match your dress that much, but with your style dress I like that it does.

I love tea length dresses for bridesmaids. The last few weddings I've seen, the BMs wore tea length and it just looked so sophisticated and stylish.

I don't think you should do the first one - it is too similar to your dress, and you want to stand out. Something simple, like the last dress you have posted gets my vote.

I think you will stand out no matter what. You look great in that dress.
I think that picking something that will look good on everyone should be important, also something that everyone likes.
