Original post by JLWSJC

I really love this look.... can I make it big and dramatic enough for my room/venue?

Submerged flowers

ETA, it won't let me link directly to this lady's body of work, so follow the links for the article for more photos. So pretty!

something like this is big and dramatic

I love this.I was quoted about 175 per piece for this exact centerpiece because of all the glass

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Yes I passed out too lol . I went to 3 florist and they all quoted me 165-175 apparently the more glass they have to get for you the more money it is. also the mirror on the bottom and they told me that submerging the flowers is alot of labor and is very messy and hard(waaaaaaaaaaaaa).. I had to cut down on vases to lower the price.. Im going to Pedestals and another florist next week(I forgot the name) but Im taking the picture to them as well so I will let you know what they are charging.. Brians was able to get me a look that is similar to this one at 125 per piece but its only 3 vases.

Maybe 3 vases and add smaller candles around the outside

Wow!!!! Which brings us to another question...

At what point to we DIY getting all of the glassware & mirrors ourselves? It IS cheaper, but Idk if florists would set up & use their flowers with YOUR glasses/vases. Hmm.

I'd be worried if something broke though... I thougth about that, and if it belongs to the florist and it breaks, it's their problem, but if it's all my stuff and something breaks, it's MY headache.

good question IDK I thought about it but Im so lazy never really researched to see if there would be much of a price difference.. But...with the price quote they actually let the guest take the vases home so thats not too bad I guess ???right?because if there are 3-4 pieces on the table with suberged flowers more people get to take home

It's definitely cheaper, but when you're talking about putting flowers in them, I'm not sure how much florists are still willing to work with you.

Far as I know, best prices are here! http://www.save-on-crafts.com/

Re: Submerged flowers

I am doing this centerpiece.

We are getting our vases and mirrors from the Flower District here in Manhattan.

They sell the vases cheaper and of course the flowers in wholesale. We are doing 3 tall cylinder vases per table with the floating candles and the mirror as the base.

In all, for 18 tables, our centerpieces will cost us about $450 total.

So if you definitely have the time, DIY!!!!!
