I am writing this for my friend. She loves loves loves Flowerfields, but her and FH are going to be paying for the wedding themselves and she doesn't know if she can afford it. Does anyone have any good suggestions of places out east that would be similar, but less expensive? Any recommendations would be helpful.

Watermill is really not too expensive..definitely not as much as Flowerfields. I hear great things about Watermill all the time.
I heard good things about Flowerfields too and went to a wedding there in Oct. It was very nice, but after finding out wat they paid for it.. it wasnt THAT nice (they are just very expensive for what it was IMO)
Try some of the Lessings locations also.

I had my wedding at the Watermill and it was beautiful and I loved the way everything was done. Albeit, I had a few gripes, but I would still recommend them!

Hamlet Willow Creek! I've noticed not a lot of brides on here are HWC brides, but its fairly new I think this is their 3rd or 4th year doing weddings. It's so beautiful! Watermill is really nice too, we were actually ready to book it, but then we went to Hamlet and I loved it!
Yay this is my hall too! I'm excited for it, so pretty and classy...and the food is really good

Re: Suffolk Catering halls
Three Village Inn and Smithtown Landing (where I had my fabulous wedding) are both in that area and have better prices than Flowerfield

I got married at Flowerfield! Normally ot would've been way too expensive for us BUT we were flexible and got married on Wednesday, July 4th!! We saved SOOOO much money!! Maybe she can do something like that, or possible get married off season!! I was def willing to get married in Dec /Jan just to have it at FF (and I def wanted a summer wedding)!
Same here. We are getting married in February so we saved money.

ME THREE!!! I'm repping April....still the off season so we saved alot. Honestly, if you're flexible with the # of people your having and your willing to guarantee a higher amount (like if you know you're having alot of people) then they'll come down a little. We got a GREAT deal! Its probably what I would have paid anywhere else that had one wedding at a time. Plus it seriously is my favorite...JMO...but its just me! When you know, you know....

OH BTW!!! WATERMILL GIRLS HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!!! I'm a picky b*tch and I had a wonderful time at the Watermill for FBIL's wedding this past summer! The CH was sooo pretty and it was nice having it on the patio. I thought the food was really good too and the bartenders were awesome. We had a blast! HTH

Re: Suffolk Catering halls
I dont know what time of year she would like to get married in but I know for sure that does make a big difference. My fh and I are getting married at Giorgios and we originally wanted Oct but the price dropped $30/pp in just one month so we sacraficed and are getting married in Nov. I dont know what their budget is but in comparison to some of the other places we checked out, Giorgios is absolutely beautiful and has great food and was probably one of the better prices we got. They also include so much in their regular package that other places charge additional money for. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Re: Suffolk Catering halls
Yea peak season FF wanted $185pp with a 185 guarantee.....I'm paying about $60 less than that....but its up to you how flexible you are.
We really had our heart set on May, but we compromised. We got the place we wanted, just changed the date. It saved us close to $7k!
