HELP EVERYONE!! I need any info on how to get the law about refunds from wedding venues in Suffolk County. Anything you can provide is very much appreciated!!

I don't know where the post is with the exact information but you need to call your venue (as long as it is 6 months prior to your date) and tell them you are canceling. By law they can keep $100 and they must send you anything further. If the place says no, just tell them you are calling the better business bureau. They take care of the rest from you. Make sure to send your RH a letter stating that you are canceling and why (the reason does NOT matter). If you don't then they dont have to give you anything back. I sent the letter and made them sign for it. If you have any other questions let me know. Mine was hell, hopefully yours goes smooth!

Thanks so much - it's actually not for me...but I'll pass on the info. Thank goodness she picked a Suffolk County venue!! She already sent out the letter - if it was me, I'd have marched right in there and handed it to them so they can't say they didn't get it!!
