Suffolk Yoga

I realllly want to take a prenatal yoga class but the yellow pages have none listed. Does anyone know of any yoga centers or places I can take yoga in Suffolk? I'm exit 63 so something semi close.

There is a Yoga class for prenatal women somewhere near Maureen's Kitchen but I don't know the details...maybe someone else does.

Girls
Silly suggestion but might be helpful nonetheless.
Golds Gym (Smithtown) has a 30day Trial membership (you can print the pass off the website), its a constant thing they have going on to attract members.
Why dont you try that, and take their yoga/pilates classes, etc.

I know the instructors at the gym (I watch their kids while they teach the classes ) and they tell me they constantly have preggos in their classes and they just tell them how to modify each part of the class. Of course if youre not showing yet, tell them you are preggo.

Why not do a month free of classes? . YOu wont get pressure to join and you walk in and out like any other member with your trial membership card.

Just a thought...

I second what Anna said. I took a regular yoga class at my gym last time I was pg and the teacher modofied the class for me. She was really conscious of what I could/couldn't do while pg. At 7 months I started a prenatal yoga tape when my gym memebrship expired.

I would be interested in knowing more about the class by Maureen's, that's down the road from me. Anna, I already go to Gold's gym in Smithtown, do you babysit in the gym? I just joined a few months ago. I would prefer to take a yoga class with a bunch of preggos.

Jenn, YEP, thats where I work.. Im usually there only in the mornings (M-F) (well wont be back for at least 8 weeks now)...

I know what you mean about taking something with preggos. you feel more like all one big group.. I took prenatal water aerobics last pregnancy and it was fun being with a bunch of big bellies and sharing stories
