suggestion from a newlywed: photography contract

hi all

heh, I haven't posted on this board in almost a year

I just wanted to pass along a tip..... when I negotiated the photography contract, DH and I didn't want engagement pics..... (frankly, our wedding pics went off w/o a hitch, so it wasn't necessary in our case to develop a rapport with the photographer)

For those of you who also aren't interested in engagement pics, you might want to negotiate with your photographer.... instead of engagement pics, we asked for a photoshoot when we have a baby. (obviously, get this in writing...)

fine, it seems very far off in the future... but it may not be.... we were married in june 2007 and our baby is due in late sept '08. Now, on the LIF pregnancy boards, some moms-to- be are trying to find a photographer and look up packages (all rather ), and we're already set! Not only that, but a wedding photographer is usually the most skilled and expensive photographer you will ever hire in your life... so baby photos by them will likely be much better than a random studio photographer.

just something to consider.....
