suggestions?

Well, we are doing our reception hall tours. So far we have visited:

Danford's Inn
Three Village Inn
Oldfield Country Club
Captian Bill's
Timberpoint
West Sayville CC
Vineyard Caterers
Riverview

So far we love Vineyard Caterers but they are a bit too $$$ for us. We think so far our favorites are Danford's Inn and Captain Bill's. Does anyone have any suggestions on these places, or suggestions on OTHER places in the same type of category we might be forgetting? We are going to try to get another trip in this weekend to do some tours, etc.

Thanks in advance!!

Re: suggestions?

My co-worker got married @ Captian Bills last year & it was really nice.
I would also suggest the Meadow Club & The Miller Place Inn
Those are in the areas you're looking in.
Good Luck!
PS-If you decide to look in Nassau, check out the Milleridge Cottage!

Re: suggestions?

I'm not sure what your budget is, but you can have a great party there for less than $90p/p depending on when you do it. If you go there ask for Selena she was our banquet manager & she worked her *ss off to get us extras & make sure everything was perfect.

Re: suggestions?

Ok, they are worth a look i suppose... Mom loves it, her band has played there a bunch, so she has seen it from the 'inside - out'. I guess mom knows her stuff ;-)

Re: suggestions?

What is your budget? We are having our reception at the Manor East. We are having a 6 1/2 hour reception and we are paying a wonderful price. If you want more information, just send me a forum e-mail.

Hello : )

You can also try the George Washington Manor. It also has that 'quaint' feel to it and was very nice. Good Luck!!

Re: suggestions?

How about Pt. Jeff Country Club? that's where I booked, one wedding at a time, right on the water, and reasonably priced!

Re: suggestions?

I am getting married at the Vineyard on a Saturday night in March and it is under $100. We were willing to pay way more but were actually very surprised by how reasonable they were. What time of year are you looking at?

Re: suggestions?

SInce you've already looked at Danford's and Old Field, I was going to suggest the Port Jeff Country Club, since it is very similar in style. It has an even more incredible view of the Sound than Danford's b/c you are out of the way of the ferry and main street traffic, etc.

Check them out - they do a lovely job and are affordable!

Re: suggestions?

Ok, yes port jeff country club is definitely on my list, we have seen the outside but need to get an appointment and look inside and talk to someone.

The guy at vineyard didn't seem to be flexible, but maybe if I talk to him to tell him I can't do it at that price he willwork with me.

Always worth a try!!!

Re: suggestions?

The Vanderbilt Mansion is a little less than $100 pp if you have you reception during the afternoon. It's very quain, yet elegant and it's on the water too.

Re: suggestions?

If Nassau interests you at all, talk to John Anthony's in Babylon. We are paying less than $90 pp and it is on the water with an incredible view. I'm super psyched!
