FH wants to HM at Disney World. This isn't exactly the place I had in mind for a HM even though I have never been and would love to go when we have a family. I was wondering if anyone thought a cruise would be more budget friendly. I saw a cruise to Bermuda that left out of NYC so we wouldn't need a flight. Any other HM suggestions for Oct? I'd like to stay below, well below 5k for both of us.

I think a cruise would definitely be more budget friendly. Some cruises are like $499 a person. I have never been on a cruise (FH will not go, I'll have to go with a girlfriend someday ... ) but I think you can definitely do a very nice one for $999 a person.
If you are a member of BJs, they have a travel service -- I think I saw a sign at one of the stores recently in which they promoted a $300 savings! Might be worth it to join BJs if you are not already a member.
Also .. what about flying to orlando, going to Disney for 2-3 days and then going on a 3-4 night cruise out of miami? if you can get good deals on the hotel and cruise it might be very doable.

I think yu can easily stay under 5K. Try pricing out Aruba, Jamaica, cruises, punta Cana- I think with that budget you have many options.

You could definitely do a cruise, but keep in mind that alcohol and excursions is not included and that can add up quickly. You can do cruises for under $5k without the flight. FH & I did it during Spring break season for about $3k with flight. We had a balcony room too!
We did a Jamaica all-inclusive in November at Couples Swept Away. I highly recommend that resort (I've posted about it a few times). Everything was included. We spent a little over $3k for everything including flight for 8 days, 7 nights.
