So, we're ending up with 2 engagement parties since his family is upstate and mine is on LI. My family is all poor so one of my BM is throwing the party. I asked if we can pitch in financially, and she knows we're struggling for money since we need to pay for the wedding ourselves so she told me 'your money is dirty and not accepted here'. She also mentioned that some of the other BMs offered to pitch in, although I'm not really sure which ones.
Anyway, I think what she's doing is so amazing and so sweet, and she's really going out of her way to do it. I'd like to do something nice for her (and my other BMs) as a thank-you. Any suggestions? The party is next weekend so I'm really hoping to figure something out before then.

Re: Suggestions
I definitely don't have a lot of money to spend, I'm thinking maybe like $25 each, maybe a little something extra special for the person hosting the party since it's at her house?
I'd like to take them out or something, but my stepsister can't really stick around for the whole weekend, because she has to get back to Penn for something with her hubby's parents, so that's no longer an option. So I was thinking maybe some sort of a cute gift or a gift card or something, idk

I would find out which BMs contributed and get them a little something and take your friend who is organizing everything for a nice dinner and drinks. Even if you don't have the money now you can use some of the money you get from gifts from the party.

I'm a little old-fashioned, but I love a good thank-you card and some flowers! Proflowers.com has some cute little arrangements for 20, and if you google for promo codes you can usually find some great deals. I just think flowers and a heartfelt card go a long way!

Re: Suggestions
I'd say pick a day and all you girls get mani/pedis.
Or just have them over to your place, cook dinner, have some drinks and/or dessert. Also, maybe writing a note or giving them all a card thanking them individually for what they have done.

I like all the get together ideas, except I don't live on LI anymore...only one of my 5 girls does. One is in Florida, one is in Rochester, one in Penn, one in NYC. It's just too hard to get us all together at once. I'm lucky if I can get 2 of them in the same room.

NP :) I often use promo code 'joan' (where it says in the corner 'hear about us on the radio?')... there's a grower's choice promo for 20 dollars, and it comes with a free vase. The flowers from there are great, and if you get them and they don't bloom or aren't to the recipient's satisfaction, they will send an entire new bouquet! My mom and dad sent me flowers from there once and when they saw pictures of what I got, my mom was not happy. I got an entire new bouquet free of charge! It seems like this may be a good route since all your girls are from different places! :)

Re: Suggestions
what about buying webcams for everyone to stay in touch? I did this with a couple of my friends and it has made a big difference in how we 'see' each other.
