Does anyone have any suggestions for a location (preferably waterfront or with beautiful grounds) to have both our ceremony and reception with a guest list of approximately 85-100 people? We are trying to plan our wedding for this coming August 31st. I know it may be considered 'last minute', but, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of locations that may be able to accommodate our 'smaller' size affair. Several of the places that we liked required minimums of 100-125 people. We dont think we can make the minimums and are obviously running out of time. I am open to all suggestions, including waterfront(or golfcourse) restaurants that can provide an adequate dance floor. Thanks!!!!

John Anthony's
Caryle on the PArk (not sure of minimum)
North Ritz Club
Land's End (I think you need more than 100 people though. I think 150 or something)
Port Jeff Country Club
Captain Bill's

Since it is only 6 months away, some places may be willing to let you have less people. What about having it on labor day, places will give you a break if you do it on that day instead.

Bridgeview is probably too big - it has a 150 minimum, but Lido is a good idea

Dubliner, not true abt Bridgeview. You can utilize main room not tent for party of up to 100 and then have ceremony and cocktail hr upstairs in room overlooking water .
Thats how my wedding was originally set up.

The Vineyard Caterers - beautiful grounds
Giorgios at Fox Hill - Panoramic view of the north fork, right on the sound (you can almost see the water but they built condos on the bluff)
Rock Hill Country Club - set on a hill with views of the ocean

You can try the Vanderbilt Mansion in Oakdale. It's on a river and has beautiful grouds. The room is small so I think you only have to guarentee 100.

Re: Suggestions for 8/31/03 wedding
I am getting married at John Anthonys (8-29-03),it's on the water and it's beautiful!! The only problem is I know our min. is 100 but the room on the first floor is smaller so it may have less of a minimum.
I HIGHLY suggest you go look at Rivieria in Massapequa. FH and I really liked it there but it was too small for us. It has an old feel to it and it has a beautiful view. It would be perfect for 80-100 people.
Good Luck!!

Stonebridge Country Club has a minimum of 100 people, however I know Three village Inn does smaller weddings. My future sister-in-law got married there almost 2 years ago and had 65 people. I would definitely check it out. Good Luck, keep us posted!

For a small wedding I would also recommend Danford's Inn in Port Jefferson! (they were my first choice but I have too many people)

Sunset Habour in Patchogue. Right on the water and a beautiful outside deck with seating. I had mine there. The food and people were great

Re: Suggestions for 8/31/03 wedding
We actually got married on 8/31/02. Our first location was at the Port Jefferson CC, and it ended up being to expensive, so we switched locations to the Holbrook CC. It's not waterfront, but it's on a Golf Course, and it's $60pp, minimum of 60 people on a Saturday night. It was beautiful. If you have any further questions, let me know, I'd be happy to help.

Try Riviera in Massapequa. We are getting married there on 7/30/04. Its one wedding at at time and we had to gaurentee 120 but you can work with them and try and bring it down. Also I am going to a wedding on labor day so its not SO odd as one might think. You might want to try that. FM if you have any questions
