Suggestions for a mid-week getaway in mid-May, somewhere near Montauk or Hamptons, that won't cost a fortune?
I realize this is a pretty tall order, but I thought someone might have some insight.
I no longer live on LI, so I'm a bit clueless as to where are nice places to stay that are not ridiculously expensive. I am trying to book a mini-trip around the third week of May (probably the 17th-20th or so) and am considering coming back to LI to visit my folks (I live in DC now). I thought it might be nice to rent a room somewhere out east, on the beach, maybe somewhere with a spa. The only place I know is Gurney's Inn and it's a bit too pricey for this impromptu trip (close to $300 even pre-season midweek).
Does anyone have any other suggestions I could look into? If so, can you send me the websites, please, as well as any info you have re rates.
