Its my first time using this chat (think its a great idea). Well, I need help! I'm planning on having the wedding in late May or June 2008 on a Saturday night. Having over 300 people and I'm hoping to spend only around $100. (Don't think thats gonna happen but I'll try). Does anyone have any recommendations for me?? Thanks!

Re: Suggestions for RH
I'm getting married at Marina Del Rey and it's a bit more pricey than that, but when I went to Russo's, they gave us a $100 base price (I was really surprised--but we also promised 375 people so maybe they lowered it b/c of that?). I think it's even cheaper if you have it on a Friday night. And it can def. hold 300 people.

uhmmm for the penthouse room maybe but not for the big rooms its alot more then $100pp.
just be careful, saturday nights are the most expensive, especially when you're considering the summer months which are pretty popular. you may have to make some compromises. there's also a magazine that is put out every year that lists all the catering halls in long island. they also have one for westchester/hudson valley. check that out as well. good luck planning!

You can try CrestHollow, which holds plenty of people.
Do be careful since you are looking for a Saturday during the Summer months--that is typically the most expensive time, so you will most likely have to compromise.

Do you think if I do it maybe on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend it would be more or less expensive than a Saturday night?

I was told for a sat night in May/June at Westbury Manor starts at $125 pp......but usually, if you are expecting a lot of guests, they'll start throwing stuff into your package....

well at JT they were gonna charge us less when originally our date was memorial day weekend, but we changed our date.
some charge more though, depends on the RH.

We were originally looking at that date but in '07. The answer to your question is it depends on the catering hall. Some of them were slightly less expensive than Saturday nights while others treated it the same as a Saturday night.
I, too, am having a large wedding and b/c of that, the prices will be reduced like jboota said. For your price range in those months, I would suggest you look at:
Chateau La Mer Bridgeview Yacht Club The Bayview House at Captain Bills Westbury Manor Fox Hollow Cresthollow

Re: Suggestions for RH
I only had quotes for milleridge for a sunday in september but they're very reasonable, you can find out what they charge for a saturday night. Also, you might want to start ASAP, those are very popular months and saturday nights are the first ones to get reserved.

Re: Suggestions for RH
May and June are very popular months to get married but so pretty also. If you are looking to have an outdoor wedding def check out Westbury Manor, you get alot of food, and they add in alot of extras. I am getting married in June. Go to vendors on the top and click on reception halls and they give you a list of RH and you can compare them.

Re: Suggestions for RH
Milleridge Cottage is pretty reasonable for Saturdays. I got quotes for July, but it was under $100, don't know how many people they can hold though.
You might wanna try Leonards of Great Neck or as people already said Jericho Terrace...

Re: Suggestions for RH
Hi! Be careful with the holiday weekends; i'm getting married Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and some places were charging like a Saturday night. The North Ritz Club gave us Sunday prices that is part of the reason why we booked with them!
If you are looking to have a large wedding the reception room holds approx. 300 people and is HUGE! The bar and DJ are in an alcove-set back from everyone. The also just redid the cocktail hour room; from what i hear its beautiful!
If you are looking to get married in an off time (oct-may) you may be able to work with them on the price. We are paying ~$140 p/p, with a full vianese and 5 entrees.
