Suggestions Needed: Salons for BM's dresses

What salons do you recommend (either from experience or word of mouth) I go to with my girls to try and find Bridesmaid's dresses? I'm in Suffolk County (Smithtown/Commack area) and we don't mind traveling to Nassau but nothing crazy far. So ANY suggestions you girls have would really help me out!!! We are planning on going SOON! TIA!!!

Everytime I call Bridal Reflections they have been more than helpful and this is over the phone!

I'm a big fan of Lillette's in Baldwin. They have been more than accommodating and their prices are good.

i'm from the same area. there's a place right in commack, the wedding center or you can go to helens bridal. i went to renate's in lindenhurst for my dress. haven't got bridesmaid dresses yet. however, kaitlin is such a sweetheart that i plan on taking my BM's to renate's.

Hey Dani!

I really think you should check out Helen's Bridal/Wedding World in Commack. Its on Austin Blvd - right off Motor Parkway by Syms. They're great to visit for your first shopping trip b/c they have a great selection, the lady Liz is realllly nice, and they encourage photos.

Commack Wedding Center on Crooked Hill Rd. has a huuuuuge selection, but I wouldn't order from there.

Thanks Nic!! Hmm... again, I hate to see FH's aunt-- maybe we can go on a day she is not there and just try on-- b/c I wouldn't order them there, if anything I would order them again from Burton's b/c they have been so good to me with my gown. OK, thanks so much and Helen's sounds fantastic-- thanks!!! and it's in the area!! YAY!!!

I went to Bridal Reflections in C.P. - found them to be very overpriced and not willing to bend. Once I told the saleswoman that I don't want the girls to spend more than $150 on the dress, we got the cold shoulder. How rude!

I had a bad experience with Bridal Rreflections in CP and in Massapequa. . . who knows maybe I just picked the wrong days to go

Try Macy's in Smithhaven Mall. They have a bridesmaid section and were nice when I went to look there. Good Luck

Re: Suggestions Needed: Salons for BM's dresses

I'm going to Bridal Reflections on Wednesday for a BM dress fitting, so I'll let you know how it goes. For BM dresses for my friends wedding so far they've been good - although I think they push you to get a larger size to make more off of the alterations.

I've gotten dresses from Bridal Suite in Bay Shore, and had a good experience, but I've heard mixed things. As I've said probably 100 times on here by now I'm getting my BM dresses from Ann Taylor. It's just so easy - one of the girls just signed up for an AT card when they were having a special and got 20% off for that, and an additional 20% because she had a coupon, so the $200 dress only cost her $120. The other girls have gotten 20-30% off. The only negative is that they don't have a large variety of dresses, and they're pretty simple.

I was a BM in a friend's wedding and we got our dresses at Bridal Reflections in Carle Place. Definitely not cheap (about $300) but very nice selection and the staff was pleasant. Hope that helps!

Re: Suggestions Needed: Salons for BM's dresses

I just ordered my gown from The Wedding Center about two weeks ago.. I went back last week to tryon the sample with my sister so she could see and they were so rude...they basically threw the sample at me and told me I would have to wait for a room. Completely not neccesary to be that rude.

After I went downstairs with my sister to try on BM dresses, first of all they acted as if we were bothering or inconveniencing them for even asking such a thing. Second after we narrowed the search down to 3, come to find out the woman was completley wrong about the color swatches and my original top choice does come in the color I originally wanted, I just happened to check the websites and order the catalogs.

The selection is great but I am now going elsewhere for the BM gowns and my alterations! Hope this was helpful!! Good Luck

we found the BM gowns at Adrienne's but went through PHyllis at gownfind to buy them....they had a pretty good selection, but I wouldn't buy the gowns there, they were more expensive there.
