Two choices:
If you want the girls to go to a salon....I go to Penny on Hair on 14. She is really good.
For my wedding, I booked a girl named Bessie for me and my bridal party. She is really good and can come to you. Her # is 718-707-1089.
I've never been to christies but I hear they are good to.

I live right by st lukes, closer to JHS 194. What a small world. We are all neighbors...hehehehheh. Bessie is great and her prices vary, depending on what you want. Worth a call.

I can't believe how many Whitestone Girls there are.
Are you FH's from this area too? My FH is from Whitestone. We met while we were both working at the Genovese Store on 19th Ave and Utopia PArkway. That was 8 years ago.

I grew up in whitestone. My husband is originally from PA and moved to NY approx. 6 years ago. He was living in Astoria. I was so happy that he loved the area and is very convenient for him to go to work, so we decided to stay.

HOLY!!!!! I'm another Penny customer!!! My SIL lived in Whitestone & she recommended me to Mis-En-Plis. I've been going to her for years!!! Her partner is Glatia (sp?) she did my SIL hair & make up for her wedding. she looked FANTASTIC!! I did call Hair on 14th & they seemed a bit $$ for just a 1/2 up-do. I wanted to go their for a trial & they told me to wait until 2 months before the wedding! I felt like that would leave me to panicky!! So I am going to look around.

I can't believe how many people use Penny!!! Too funny. Charliesgirl, not getting married at a church at all, having everything at Pt. Jeff Country Club out in SUffolk where I grew up. I've been a Whitestone girl for only 3 years, never thought I would like living in QUeens but I've grown to really like the area.

My FH grew up in Whitestone too. He also went to Bayside HS. I grew up all over Queens (elmhurst, Ridgewood, Glen Oaks, bellerose, Rego Park).
EDITED TO SAY- FH used to live almost right across the street from St. Lukes. theres an italian deli right there right? (he knows the owners there)
