Hi Ladies, For our wedding we have decided to go with suits rather than tuxedos. Does anyone know where we can rent a nice, fitted suit rather than a tuxedo? We like the looks of the suits from J. Crew or Banana Republic, however we feel guilty making all of the groomsmen purchase the suits, so we are hoping to find a place that offers similar style rentals.
Thanks!

I THINK Tuxedo Park. Pretty sure... but not 100% positive... maybe Victor Talbot?

My DH and his GM's rented their suits from Bonaventure in Garden City.... we got an amazing deal and had no issues with them... great family run biz... see my review in my profile for more info/pics

Re: Suits rather than tuxedos...
We had custom suits tailored for each of our groomsmen and this was a HUGE hit!!! All of the guys raved about the idea and about their suits!
Basically we made a contribution towards the cost that brought the final cost down to that of a rental...
Each of the guys got to walk away with badass suits for the price of renting a burlap sack!
There is NOTHING like a custom suit!
Check out: MySuit in NYC
Prices start in the 400 dollar range for VERY legit fabric....and you can CUSTOMIZE EVERYTHING!!!

We are using MurLees in lynbrook, they are a vendor of the Jims Formal Wear line that my FH picked for khaki colored suits. FH was just in a wedding where the groom made him buy the suit, and let me tell you how pissed he was to have to buy one But he did get some use out of it, so that could be an option too.

IMO, the key for having custom/purchased suits is making contribution towards the cost. Most rentals are pricey and once they are returned, there is nothing to show for the cost.

oh yeah, sorry if that came out wrong, I meant to get across that my FH was pissed about it at first, but then got more use out of it, so it was worth it! Although if they would have chipped in since they made the boys buy them, that would have been even better

Re: Suits rather than tuxedos...
Thank you to everyone for your suggestions!
The J Crew or Banana Republic suits tend to be a bit more form fitting as opposed to how some other suits can come across a bit 'boxy.'
We have two siblings that will be groomsmen that are college-aged and really are trying to keep expenses down for them.
