Summer wedding

We're both teachers who didn't want to take any time off to get married. . .'nuff said.

It had to be a summer wedding because I'm a teacher. All Sat nights were booked but I couldn't afford them anyway. They only had 2 Fri nights and a sunday I think. I prefer Friday. Then, the dates were either July 31 or Aug 14. The 14 is his sisters birthday and I didn't want to go on my honeymoon and come back to go to work right away.

Also, our first date was July 26, 2000. We didn't realize that for years (until I found the ticket stub from the movie we saw), so we always celebrate Aug 2nd. So It will be right between the two dates and that is our 9 year.

And the dorkiest reason: How could I not chose July 31 when its Harry Potter's birthday???? (Joking but I'm kind of a little serious )

LOVE harry potter!! hahahaha but i swear i can never get to read the books!! They look insanely huge (FH bought me one)

I wanted a fall wedding but FH wanted summer so we pretty much narrowed it down to august and liked the way august 22nd looked best! Its also the same weekend we got engaged last year so it's a special date

We started dating 9-9-99 so originally I wanted to have it on 9-9-09, but that wasn't a friday or a weekend, plus a lot of my OOT family wouldn't be able to come since their kids would be in school. Soooo after going through different dates we decided on 8-9-09, we still have our '9''s in there and its exactly a month shy of our 10 year anniversary!!

We wanted the fall then found out how much is it to get married then. So we decided on a Friday night in the winter and then we found out that getting married on a Thursday night in the summer was even cheaper. So we decided on that and then we were able to get married on what would have been my parents 37th wedding anniversary.
