do you switch your bedding for the season? I'm looking for a lightweight comforter set for the summer - any suggestions?

Re: Summer /winter bedding?
We just added an extra blanket for the winter.
I am thinking of getting a lighter weight down comforter for this summer, though. We were sweating a few of the warm nights.

That's what we need. So I'm online looking at sets but I have no idea how to tell if it's going to be lightweight. My mother said to look for Matelasse (a lighter material)

We have a quilt, so we just take off the heavy extra blanket and use the quilt alone.

Do you have a comforter inside of a duvet cover or a 'fashion' comforter?

Re: Summer /winter bedding?
We have a fashion comforter but it's pretty heavy. So instead of just using a lightweight cotton blanket (like the kind you wrap yourself in to watch tv) I want to treat myself to a whole new comforter set, but it's very light

I have seen some of the matelasse things. They are pretty. Somewhere inbetween a comforter and a bedspread. Look nice and yet cool enough for summer.

Thanks for you responses. I'm going to go search online for the matelasse sets.

I just Googled it and the first few places I saw were LinenSource and Horchow. I think Pottery Barn has some too. And Domestication should have them.
Post a pic when you order!

Re: Summer /winter bedding?
in the winter we use a down comforter, and in the summer we switch to a light weight quilt. Before we lived together I never switched, but FI gets so darn hot it was started to make me sweat at night!!
