Sunday Brides help me!

Sunday Brides help me!

I am getting soooo bummed out that my wedding is on a Sunday. I feel like I should've booked it somewhere cheaper so I could have a Saturday night. I don't want people leaving early and I HATE that everyone has to work the next day. It's way too late now regardless...I'm so sad though! It just didn't make sense to pay sooo much more for a Saturday night for the SAME exact wedding...Especially in this economy!!!! Uggghhh I could cry. Positive feedback is WELCOME pleaseee

I am not a Sunday bride but have attended numerous Sunday weddings recently...I wouldnt stress. It seemed maybe one or two people left early but it was nothing noticeable. Everyone partied until the very end

I was a Friday 09 bride, and I was so upset that people would probably not come to the ceremony because of work obligations, but I was amazed at how many people actually showed.

I have been to more than my fair share of Sunday weddings, and the only people that left early were older people and families with young kids. Don't fret, most people will stay and you will still have a ton of fun.

Edit-I just realized that your wedding is during the day...most people stay if it is during the day, so you really shouldn't worry about people going early.

Can you change it to a Friday? Saturdays were too expensive for us and between Friday and Sunday, we didn't even consider Sunday for the reasons you said. If it is early in the day, I don't see why people wouldn't come.

I'm a Sunday bride too ... i don't think you should be upset about the day. the people that love you will be there until the end regardless of the day!

if it bothers you so much though, maybe you can speak with your RH and change the time to be slightly earlier?

Not a Sunday bride, but I am a Thursday bride. I have to worry about people leaving work early to attend the ceremony AND leaving early because of work the next day.

I don't regret our decision at all.

For us, the main factor was cost. I would rather be able to afford our dream wedding and at least invite everyone that we want there, rather than having a Saturday night someplace cheaper and only be able to invite half the guests.

As others have said, the people that want to be there, will be.

Good luck, and don't regret your decision!

I am a sunday bride and although originally this was a bit of a bummer I did it for reasons such as headcount minimums (can't guarantee as many people as they want on saturday), want my guests to take advantage of the gorgeous surroundings at my RH and its a jewish wedding, which are most of the time on sunday anyways...nothing worse then going to a jewish wedding in the summertime when the ceremony starts at 9pm...and then you're home by 4 am....ridic.
I think you should stick to your decision, the people that love you can care for you will be there, and don't let that even be a concern. Start a bit earlier (my whole wedding ends by 10, how is THAT late for a sunday?) when most people dont even go to bed that early. Don't stress, its all good, you do not need any justifications!!!!!!

I was a Sunday bride. We had 200 guests at our wedding and only a handful left early. If your friends and family want to be there they will be there...what time does your wedding end? If you are really worried about people leaving early maybe you can move your CH up. Don't be bummed you are going to have a wonderful day!!

I am a Sunday bride too. I was concerned with this at first also, but in the end, the people who love you and care about you will be there.

I am having be CH start a little earlier this way the reception ends early.

We are doing ceremony at 3
CH at 6
and reception 7-11

Speak with your RH and see if you can change the time.

I wouldn't worry @ it! I have been to many Sunday weddings and the only ones who leave early are the older crowd. Your friends will be up there dancing with you all night!

I'm also a Sunday bride and was having the same feelings as you but our wedding is over at 9 or 9:30 so hopefully most will stay! I know ppl may not be in as much of a party mood being that it's on a sunday but at least everyone will be at the ceremony. Also all of our OOTs (which is almost 50 ppl) are def taking off on monday so if ppl want to they can always take a sick day the following day. Don't worry you are going to have a beautiful, amazing day and like the other girls said, people that love you will be there and stay until the end.

I am a friday bride too! And we are worried about people running late to the ceremony because they were stuck at work.

What time is your ceremony? We are thinking 630???

We had a Sunday wedding (it ended at 9pm) and no one left early. We had an amazing time and we loved our hall but couldn't have afforded it if we got it on a Saturday. It was way worth it in my opinion to have the best day ever at the place we loved. Why would you want to settle?

I'm a Sunday Bride.. We did it since its a 1/2 Jewish wedding in the summer Friday night at Saturday were out of the question.

As everyone has said before the people that love you and your FH will be there till the very end. We are sending out our save the dates about a year in advance to give people the opportunity to take 1/2 a day off or the whole day off on Monday.

See if your RH can move your CH up a little if you are really concerned.

our Ceremony is at 5
CH 530
reception 630-1030.

Dont stress your day will be perfect no matter what!!

I am a Sunday bride, please do not regret your decision, it was a economically friendly one!!!! In the end, no matter what, it is your wedding day and people are there for you!!!! It is so important for you not to get caught up in worrying about if guests will leave early, guests can leave early on any day you have your wedding. I was hesitant like you at first, but I know that it was a wise decision. Mine begins at 11:30 so we are having a continental breakfast before the ceremony at the RH and it will end at 5pm which I feel is a good time!!! I was worried about people not really wanting to dance and have fun, but now I realize that it all depends on what your guests are like and I know that all our guests are gonna bring the party!!!!!

Re: Sunday Brides help me!

I couldn't believe I was booking a Sunday at the time but it has been great for us! We have been able to negotiate a lot more with vendors and I wasn't in such a crazy rush to book vendors b/c I knew I had less competition for a Sunday.

I'm not worried about people leaving early except for older family members---and I'm okay with that!
