I am getting soooo bummed out that my wedding is on a Sunday. I feel like I should've booked it somewhere cheaper so I could have a Saturday night. I don't want people leaving early and I HATE that everyone has to work the next day. It's way too late now regardless...I'm so sad though! It just didn't make sense to pay sooo much more for a Saturday night for the SAME exact wedding...Especially in this economy!!!! Uggghhh I could cry. Positive feedback is WELCOME pleaseee

I'm on sunday and I feel like all my friends and family will stay and have fun. The people who leave will be the ones missing out.

Im Sunday too. Sometimes I worry too but then I remember that
a) most people will show b/c its an early wedding.
b) friends and family will come no matter what
c) years from now no one will remember the day of the week..only what a great time they had.
d) Saved a lot of money by getting married on Sunday.

I don't think I know how to use this website yet! Thank you alllllll for helping me out. I honestly feel better having read all of your feedback! My mom and I spoke with the Cartun today to check for Saturday night availability in October....there is none. I find that hard to believe so I am going to have my friend pretend to be a bride to be interested in the Carltun and call them tomorrow. Pains in the butt they are ova thea. There is however a 'twilight' option on Sundays....it can be any time on Sunday and the price is comprable to Saturday night. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we're the only affair on my Sunday to have that flexibility. I lied on my profile about my date and time. My ceremony starts at 3:30 and my cocktail starts at 6:30 on a SUnday in mid-October. I feel weird disclosing too much info over the internet...I'm nutso! Thanks again dolls! I will sleep calmer tonight....if it was the fellow Sunday nighters responses or the bottle of Cavit my hubs and I downed tonight...one will never know ;)

we are doing a twilight time 3:30-9pm and it was still even cheaper than sat night being that it's in the winter! if you can get twilight time i think that's perfect!

I was Sunday and a few people left early but others stayed the whole time and it was amazing!! we did it on a sunday bc it was cheaper too and lower head count and it was SOOOOOOOOOO worth it. . our band was cheaper too. . overall we literally saved thousands of dollars and it was amazing. .. no worries your friends will party and love it and if a few oldies or others leave early so be it. . everything has it's drawbacks. . and so some folks take off on monday. . if you had it friday same thing. .in the end people will celebrate you and it's ALL good

well it really depends on what time your reception goes till....i think if it ends before or around 12 not many people will leave. ....

oh I'd also like to add since I saw someone suggested you change it to Friday, that I think Friday is the worst of fri sat sun for a wedding because every wedding I've been to on a Friday, only immediate family will take off from work if your ceremony is before they finish work and also no one has time to get ready or get dressed up. I once went a Friday wedding and Sunday wedding in one weekend, Friday's wedding was fine, but everyone on Sunday had their hair done all nice and makeup done, where as Friday it looked like people rushed from work to the reception (which they did). Bottom line people might stay out later Friday but if your reception ends before 12 anyway it will be a more elegant affair on Sunday, from my experience.

I'm a Sunday Carltun bride and my reception starts at 630. Invites are out and so far the only 3 no's we got were expected no's from out of towners. Everyone else is a yes. You'll be fine! Don't stress. It will be beautiful!

I've never been to a Sunday wedding that wasnt on a Holiday weekend... but the people that are important to you will be there...

I mainly did a Sunday because my RH had booked their saturdays for June already and besides, they needed a higher guarantee.

It worked out for us because my parents and their friends all work on saturdays anyway. Our wedding is from 4-10:30 (i think lol) so I def think that is not too late. I know the younger people and my bms will hang out for an after party!

In the end, it's not the day of the week you remember for the rest of your life, but the place and the experience and being surrounded by the people that love you!

And if they are close friends/family, they will have ample notice to plan around it if they have to.

my wedding is on a Sunday. there was no way we could've afforded to do it on Sat. as someone else said, I prefered to get a gorgeous place with very high reputation and pay more than to do at a cheaper place.
I am not worried about ppl leaving early at all. if that is their choice so be it.
my wedding ends at 9PM, that is very early so I dont see why they would leave earlier than 8:30 even elderly and ppl ppl w/children

I am a Sunday bride and I thought about that also. But if people are given enough notice, they will do whats necessary to make sure that they can stay for the whole wedding. Anyone thats really important to you will stay until the end! Don't worry, you will have a great time no matter what!!!

I'm not a sunday bride but almost every wedding i've been to recently was on a sunday and very few people left early.. as long as it ends around or before midnight you should be fine. Everyone who truly matters will stay because they know its important to you and they'll want to be involved in the most important day!

People who are close to you will stay the whole time, whether it is a Sunday or a Saturday wedding. People who aren't close to you will leave early either way, I've seen people leave Saturday weddings early when the party starts to get boring. Just think your party is going to be amazing and people will party the night away and not realize what time it is :)

Don't feel bad I have 2 strikes Sunday night and it labor day weekend. We tossed and turn about it we thought it would be a good ideal cause our guest would have Monday off so Sunday night would be great . But we started telling people they were like are you crazy labor day weekend we heard it all down to the weather, at the end of the day we said it's booked and it's final so don't worry it will work out fine send the STD early and they could probably take Monday off good luck
