Sunday day or evening???

Original post by jmd75

FH and I haven't booked yet (we are going to a tasting tomorrow :) but are thinking of a Sunday wedding. We know it will be either a friday or sunday due to prices. I felt like friday was harded for OOT guests (staten island, jersey, the bronx) because they would have to deal with rush hour traffic. So we kind of decided Sunday. I've always wanted an evening wedding but I know a day wedding is priced lower. And I guess it would be easier for people who don't want to take a day off from work.
Anyone who is having a Sunday day wedding - what are you doing after the reception ends? I can't imagine our wedding day being over at 5!!

I would rather go to a sunday day wedding then an evening. I went to a wedding that was a twilight one and loved it.

Hi,

I had that same dilema, my wedding is on sunday so we had the choice of 11am-5pm or 6pm-12mid. I chose the later time, thinking that although midnight is very late, 11 is to early for the ceremony. I am going to do all the routine reception activites by 10pm, so if people want to leave. Your close friends and family will stay, so don't worry!

We're having a Sunday night wedding. It's the summer, so we figure people will either already be off, or will take off the next day hopefully!

Sunday evening! I'm not the biggest fan of day time weddings, I feel like I never know what to do afterwards

For a Sunday, I prefer daytime.

Also, if your getting married at a church on a Sunday, a lot of churches only offer afternoon ceremonies, so an evening wedding is the only option in that case.

We picked a sunday day wedding, it ends at 5:30 which means most guests will get home around 6, and there is no worries about work the next day. We went to a wedding that was a sunday night and we were half joking around with co-workers that will see them in a couple of hours.

We're doing a Sunday twighlight. Starts at 5 and ends at 11. I think that is a fair enough time for people not to have to stay out too late and if they need to leave at 10:30, they will.

I love the idea of a Sunday twighlight wedding. Best of both worlds. I'd look into that if I were you. Good luck!
