This is something that has been bothering me. Originally we set our date for Oct. 25 but changed it to Oct. 26 in the afternoon. I've been really obsessing with this lately. I really want an evening reception!!! Please let me know what you think and why? I will be keeping the date the same I'm just not too sure about the time.

I voted for afternoon. But what about late afternoon. I think evening would be hard for some guests who have to work on the monday.
My hall books one day wedding and one evening wedding for the same room. So we have to be out by 6.

hmm.. then i would do an afternoon one. Maybe you can have the BP and your closest family back to someone's house for some drinks and more time together.

Afternoon is cool if your ceremont start around 1 pm everything would not end unitl the evening anyway. I can do afternoon or evening, just not an AM ceremony,I am not a morning person.

Re: Sunday evening vs. afternoon
An evening wedding just gives us that extra time in the day. If we had an afternoon wedding, i feel like i would have to get up and go with my bridesmaids to get our hair done at 5:00AM or something.
That's EXACTLY what happened with a friend of mine. Her hair and makeup people showed up at her house at 4am b/c the photographer was arriving at 7! (11am ceremony, CH an hour from her house...).
We're getting married on a Sunday night, but it's Memorial Day weekend so most people won't have work on Monday. Most of our OOT guests are getting hotel rooms nearby. We'll see what happens...

Re: Sunday evening vs. afternoon
I'll be honest, afternoon weddings are nice but I don't know just doesn't feel the same. Especially for those who are also going to the ceremony, you are up from early so you're not in that party mood. Then i don't know it was just weird leaving a wedding so early. How about a sunday on a holiday weekend when people have off the next day. Or starting it around 5-10 or if its 4 hrs do 6-10 or 7-11. Don't get me wrong though theres nothing wrong with afternoon weddings, and they're still as nice, just feels a little different.

I appreciate everyone's help!! I still like the idea of having it in the evening but I'll have to discuss it with FH. Thank you again!
