So I opted for a Sunday evening wedding. I just started wondering if it would be difficult to get vendors for a Sunday night? Also does anyone know if there pricing is different. I read an article previously that mentioned vendors tend to me more negotiable on off nights or seasons. Is this true??? Are there any other Sunday brides out there??

Re: Sunday evening wedding???
Wow.... Thanks that is good to know. I have heard some vendors will go down in price since its an off night and its like picking up some extra work for them. Hopefully I can get a deal too :)
Also I decided to stay with the later time. I figured if it ended at 10pm the OOT people might think they should just try to make it home (to Boston) and they would then leave early. SO I cant win. I will just keep it 6:30-midnight and let the older people leave early which they will anyway.

Re: Sunday evening wedding???
Our is at 7 p.m. on a Sunday. Ends at midnight. Not my choice in time, but it is what it is. I'm hoping people will stay until the end, but we'll see what happens.
I don't know if vendors were cheaper since we didn't shop different dates. (Other than the RH, that was cheaper and why we chose Sunday). I do think that it has made it easier to get vendors so close to the wedding though.

Re: Sunday evening wedding???
I had a Sunday wedding. ceremony started at 4:30 and ended at 10pm. It worked out very well! We didn't have many OOT guests. Most of the guests drove in. We could've had a later wedding but we figured people had to work the next day.
We didn't have much trouble booking vendors at all. In fact the vendors that we wanted were all free that day. There was one photographer that I did contact and he said that he ONLY did Saturday weddings, but besides that we didn't have any issues.
We lucked out in having the RH all to ourselves the whole day. Which may not have worked out if it were a Saturday wedding.

Honestly people will probably complain no matter what time you book it.. I booked mine on a Sunday from 12 - 530 I booked early so people would be able to go home after and have plenty of time to unwind and get to sleep. Now people are complaining they have to get up too early to get there.. Just do what you want, youll never please everyone.

Re: Sunday evening wedding???
All of my cousins had Sunday evening weddings, yet they have the gall to ask me why I'm having a Sunday evening wedding...
My cocktail hour starts at 6, dinner from 7-11:30pm...I expect couples with kids and older folks to begin leaving at around 10:30 or so, but I expect most of my friends to hang around until the end, especially since the RH is not too far from their houses

Re: Sunday evening wedding???
Here's another idea no one mentioned yet that I was able to work out with my RH. I am starting a little earlier (5-10 pm) but we are allowed to decide the night of if we want an extra hour.

Re: Sunday evening wedding???
While I certainly got a price break for Sunday at the RH. Weddings are actually quite popular on Fridays and Sundays so you may get a little break but that's about it. No troube booking vendors though.

Re: Sunday evening wedding???
in 2007 just about every wedding we attended happened to be on a sunday and EACH and every one of them were sunday evening...CH starting at 7 or 7:30pm and ending around 11pm-midnight...most people stayed until late and even though we had work the next day we still stayed late.
Its 1 day ppl can deal with it so dont worry...so what they'll be tired the next day at work, we did and you get over it.

Re: Sunday evening wedding???
HUN it's your day. You can't please everyone. Stick to the time that fits you best. I agree it's JUST O N E!!! day. Since you are going to send out the std's they will probably take the monday off (which is something that i would do) or call in late or tell them that i will be going in late. ITS one day and its not like a wedding comes everyday so im pretty sure that they will be fine with it.
If they can't make an effort to be there then you don't want them there. YOU WILL BE FINE!!!

Re: Sunday evening wedding???
I have been to Sunday weddings and they are fine. No one I know had a problem getting vendors wither. Also, what I would suggest is maybe starting a little earlier. Also, you are getting married in the summer which will make a Sunday fine.

Re: Sunday evening wedding???
Getting vendors on a sunday evening is completely fine. People can deal wtih having to wake up the next day for work, and honestly, if they cant, you probably dont want them at your wedding anyone. It's one day, and they should be able to do it to be there for you. RH's and vendors usually give discounts for sunday weddings.

Re: Sunday evening wedding???
Thanks everyone!!! I feel so much better now. I have waited 30 years... it will be 31 1/2 years by the time the day comes...LOL! So I am sure the people that care about me will make an exception. The local guests can still go to work the next day, or take a half day or make it a 3 day weekend it is summer after all. And the OOT will have to take a 3 day weekend. I took an entire week off of work for my best friends wedding. Not exactly convenient but I did it. So if I can do that I am sure people can spare being a little tired on Monday or just taking 1 day off!
THANKS!!! You ladies rocK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Sunday evening wedding???
I am getting married a Sunday evening as well. My ceremony is 5:00-5:30. Cocktail hour is 5:30-6:30 and reception is 6:30-10:30. I haven't had any trouble getting vendors. Sunday evening is actually more popular than you think. Book soon because the photographer I wanted was booked already when I contacted him 1-1/2 yrs before the the wedding!!

Re: Sunday evening wedding???
im a sunday night wedding, we chose that because friday i find it too inconvient for a lot of the people that work in my family and friends and have hard time to get off from work....saturday was more expensive...so that left us with sunday....the cocktail hr is at 5pm, everything ends at 1030.....all the past weddings ive been to have been sunday nights, i didnt have any problems with any of the vendors
