Hi everyone... I was wondering if anyone else is doing a sunday night wedding? I am having my reception at Villa Lombardi's and I really want a night time wedding but friday and saturday are out of my price range... The sunday night is from 730-1230.. do you think that is too late? Also, my church ceremony starts at 3pm. I know there will be a large gap but it gives time for pictures. Does anyone else have a big gap? I would appreciate any feed back.. thanks soo much

Re: Sunday Night Wedding
i would say it depends on how many OOTers you have. if you have a lot it might be too late for them, unless they can take off from work the next day. if not, i dont think it is too bad....i might considering ending it an hour earlier though just in case.

I'm also having a sunday night wedding b/c I'm seventh day adventist. My ceremony is starting at 4-5pm and my cocktail hr 6-7 pm and the reception 7-11pm. That's an estimate.

Re: Sunday Night Wedding
I was thinking of having a Sunday also. Almost all of the weddings I have been to were on a Sunday night. A Sat wedding would be nice but the price difference between Sun and Sat is NICERRRRRR

It would be good if you can get a sunday on a holiday weekend this way people have off the next day, find out if they have that available

People will go to your wedding if it's a Wednesday morning or a Sunday night. Some people might have a problem staying until 12:30 but for the most part people will stay and have a good time. Don't worry!

Re: Sunday Night Wedding
I am having a Sunday night wedding. Our wedding is from 6-11, maybe 11:30 if we add a half hour viennese... I really wanted to have my wedding at the RH I chose, but I couldn't afford to do it on a Sat night, there was a 40 dollar per person difference!! The Sat night wedding was one thing I said I would never budge on, but I clearly I have changed my mind... I would have done it the sunday before memorial day, but they were charging sat night prices anyway. We are going to block out hotels nearby, all of our friends and family (the ones who like to party at least) are going to take that Monday off of work and stay at a nearby hotel. I'm sure there will be people who will leave early or not drink/dance as much as they would if it were a Sat night, but I know that all the people that REALLY matter will be there till the end.

very true! close friends and family will be there no matter what. we opted for the sat. daytime wedding b/c we were worried about people not being able to come or stay, but you do have a good point. we have a lot of OOTers, so we decided to keep it on sat. day, but sat. night is waaayy more expensive, so it may be worth it if you are saving that much $.

Seventh day adventist is my religion. We observe sabbath on saturday so we can't be married on a saturday.

Re: Sunday Night Wedding
We're gonna end up doing a Sunday night as well, the price difference is sooooooooo much more reasonable, AND someone said it earlier, PEOPLE WHO LOVE YOU WILL COME TO YOUR WEDDING WHENEVER IT IS!!!!
GO SUNDAY!! It's not too late either, for those that have to be up early, maybe they'll leave at 10:30 instead of 11:30, but their will plenty of people there partying til the end even those that do have to brave the mon AM, we've all done it, and will do it again-- have that monday workday hang over, sometimes you just have to.

I too am getting married on a Sunday evening...I would have loved to get married on a Saturday, but, I really wanted Flowerfield and I had the same problem as you...just to much $$$$.
I even added on an extra half hour to CH and the Viennese at the end adding an extra hour. The party now ends at 1am OUCH!!!! One of my co-workers was also married on a Sunday night, he said he had over 250 guests and no one left early!!! So, I'm taking my chances. My church is also at 3pm and the CH starts at 6:30...an hour less then you...but...still a gap? I was tempted to switch to a Friday night, but then I was worried too many people would miss the Ceremony at the Church. I think you will be fine...the only ideal way is Saturday...I just don't know 185 people to meet the minimum and at that price...
Anyway...someone suggested when I send out my save the dates I should indicate Sunday April 20th, 2008 Evening...when people see this, hopefully they will take off that Monday...I'm hoping it will all work out in the end.
Good Luck to you!

Really? when we went to JT we were looking at all the weekends in May, they also suggested the sunday before memorial day and it was cheaper than a saturday nigt.

I think if you tell people far enough in advance, they can take off from work the next day if they really want to go
