Although we are leaning toward a holiday weekend... it's a holiday not everyone has off for. For those that are doing sunday weddings - what time are you starting up and what time are you ending? The venue we are considering is out east and I don't think I want to send my guests home after 8pm if anyone has to work the next day... I know I don't appreciate having to take off from work since my vaca time is so limited - I always go to work the next day - tired, but I go. We are talking about doing a brunch the next day which would be a monday for out of towners or whoever would like to go and has off.

Re: Sunday weddings
Mine is a Sunday evening and will run from 6-12 (including ceremony). Not ideal but I wanted a night wedding. We have 11 weddings in the next year and only three of them are not on Sunday nights. I actually was just at a wedding last night until 12:15. It was a great time so I wouldn't concern yourself too much with the times. People will have fun regardless.

Am I the only one who doesn't think it's necessary to take off the day after a wedding? I think people are just too lazy to get up the next day. Plan your day around YOU and FH! And we are doing a Sunday wedding from 7-12pm. Granted the next day is the Fourth of July, but I would have done it if it were any other Sunday, too. Let them be tired. No one says they have to get rip roaring drunk to have fun. People like to complain
Agreed! I was at a wedding last night and got home at 12:45. I'm here today! Tired but I can suck it up for one day!

Re: Sunday weddings
I'm doing a Sunday wedding also and decided on a 'day' wedding rather than night. The next day is not a holiday at all (unless you live in Mexico!)
We start at 10am - brunch reception at 12:30 -and all done by 5-6pm.
This leaves us with the opportunity to hang out with friends afterwards for a few hours if we want and also not be too wiped out to enjoy the wedding night!!

Yea, really! And I'm not just saying that because I'm also getting married on a Sunday.

Re: Sunday weddings
It looks like you're planning your wedding for next Columbus Day. I'm having mine this Columbus Day weekend on a Sunday. Our Ceremony starts at 12 and our recpetion will end at 5. I think it's fair since some people will have off on Monday and others will be home at a good time.
