What do you think of a sunday wedding? I am thinking of veterans day next year. I have gotten some incredible prices. Do you think guests will not come because it is on a sunday evening? Thanks Ladies!

I had a Sunday wedding, and had 300 people there! People will come, and there's nothing wrong with a Sunday wedding!

Re: Sunday Weddings
I got married the Sunday of Columbus day weekend and I had such a great turn out and I had a lot of OOT guests. No one left early and from what I understand some ppl even went out afterwards. So here's my advice have your wedding on the day that is best for your the ppl and love you and want to be part of your day will be there

Re: Sunday Weddings
People will come, of course!
Honestly, even if you have your wedding on a Saturday night, people will find excuses not to come. The important people will always find a way to be there.
We wound up going with a Saturday night for various reasons, but we seriously considered a Sunday wedding. It would have started earlier and ended by 9:30 or 10pm so that the local people would have time to get home and to bed so they could work the next day.
I like the idea of a Sunday wedding better than Friday night, personally. Friday nights are tough for me - I work long hours in Manhattan and it's tough for me to get out early enough. I'm also exhausted on Fridays after a long work week. However, that wouldn't make me skip the wedding or have any less fun. Same thing with Sunday, too. People will come and have fun. You have to pick the date that works best for you guys - the important people will be there!

Re: Sunday Weddings
I had a Sunday night wedding in October (no holiday in sight) and had a great turn out. And for those who did not attend it had little or nothing to do with it being on a Sunday. Very few people left early and if they did it was only by a half hour (our reception ended at 11:30). Those who really want to be there will come, even if its on a Tuesday! It was also worth saving the $ because we were able to add on so many fun things that normally, say on a Saturday night, we wouldn't have been able to afford. FM me if you have any more questions.

Re: Sunday Weddings
I'm having mine next Veteran's Day and that was my concern as well. Especially b/c this year not many people had off. However, b/c Vet's day falls on a Sunday next year, a lot of people do have off on Monday so it should be fine.
And, as an aside, a lot of my friends have gotten married on Sundays and I have never once cut out of their wedding early and I still had to work the next day.

Re: Sunday Weddings
I had a Sunday wedding in the Summer....we had about 160 people which was perfect. The only reason people couldn't come was because of summer vacation plans .
More and more people have Sunday weddings due to cost....I would say go for it!

Re: Sunday Weddings
That is the day I'm getting married! I picked it because the prices were really good and a lot of people that I asked are going to be off the next day from work. Everyone that I asked said they didn't mind going on a Sunday, as long as it didn't end at 1am. Mine will be over at 11pm.

Re: Sunday Weddings
a lot of girls here have had sunday weddings!!
i think it all depends on your crowd and how many oot guests you have.
if it's the sunday of a long weekend, you increase your odds.
i've never been to a sunday wedding, but from what i've seen on here... they are GREAT!!!
go for it

Re: Sunday Weddings
I'm working on booking a Sunday afternoon wedding. I think it's a great option--cheaper for us, and my guests will be able to get home at a reasonable hour so they can go to work the next day. If you're thinking of booking a Sunday evening wedding with a holiday the next day, you should have a good turnout. I'm not sure about a regular Sunday evening, though.
