Re: Sunday Weddings ?
dont stress it..i felt the same way but everyone should at least stay til cake cutting and dessert served as that is proper ettiqiute (sp?)!!! I decided to get my 14 closest friends transportation so they have to stay till the end and I know most of them already booked the next day off from work!!!

I know it's the right thing to wait till the end but even my sister is complaining she might have to leave cause the next day is her daughters 2nd day of school 'how rude' I'm sure I'll have more important things to worry about. But I keep getting this dream that i'm dancing alone and the only person left at the hall. It's actually pretty funny.

She's only 12, exactly how much could she possibly miss in one day. She's a brainiac anyway. These's always someone who complains but didn't think it would be my own sister whom is also my MOH.

It won't end till 1 am . I am getting married at the hall . Cocktail hour , reception and viennese hour. I'm thinking the vienesse hour is really whats pushing it to be so late. But I really want one.

My FSIL was also thinking of having one of her friends come pick the kids earlier than the nite ending but i dont want them to leave...im such a kid person and i want them there all nite so I may invite her friend who i alos am friendly with as a guest and when that time comes she can bring them up to the bridal suite where we have 2 bedrooms for them to hang out or sleep in....

No I'm not. I'm sure there will be many people at your wedding that will take off the next day.

Re: Sunday Weddings ?
My Sunday wedding ceremony is at 3, the cocktail hour starts at 6 and the reception ends at 11:30pm. The cake will be cut at around 10:30pm, so I expect guests to begin leaving around that time.
I am a bit concerned about guests leaving early, but it'll mostly be older guests, parents with young kids and those who live more than a half hour away...about 50-60% of my guestlist, that is. So, if the other half of the guests remain until the end, it just means more fun for us!!

Re: Sunday Weddings ?
i leave early for sunday weddings and usually dont drink at them either which means i dont really dance much - i just dont want to be tired and hungover for work the next day - if it was my sister or best friends wedding i probably would take off the monday but i havent been THAT close to anyone that i have attended a sunday wedding for - its true that some people do leave early - our wedding is on a friday night and i think we are going to end at 1am also and i am expecting people to leave early for mine just because i know that 1am is late for a lot of older guests - i think 1 am is pretty late for a sunday. my FH works sunday weddings and typically they end around 11. i wouldnt worry though - everyone close to you will most likely stay to the end

Re: Sunday Weddings ?
the Monday after my wedding is a holiday so I know most of my friends and family that I really want to stay late have off. The ones that don't have off ... are taking the day off anyway. So, I think the only people that will leave early are the older family members. But, the older folks always leave early... even with Saturday weddings... so I am not concerned.

Re: Sunday Weddings ?
If it's the viennese you are worried about - honestly - maybe you can do without it? I have been to a few weddings that have had them, and hardly any food is eaten at them. You eat sooo much at the wedding - by the time the viennese comes, you are tired and full. I left 15 mins. after the viennese started at both.
Hate to burst your bubble on that, but that's my experience with viennese hours. I don't think, in my opinion, they are worth the money or time.

Re: Sunday Weddings ?
My wedding was a Sunday during they day, and that was a concern of mine too. And people did leave early, even though it ended at 5:30. Mostly people who werent OOT but lived a good distance away (like NJ or CT). Unfortunately there is nothing you can really do about it. If someone has a long drive home, they may opt to leave early. But they will be there for the ceremony, which IMO is the most important part of the wedding.
