Re: Sunscreen

i used to get this really bad reaction to the sun and my doctor told me that everything over spf 35 is just 35 with a different number written on the bottle so i just use spf 35 (even when i went to aruba) and just keep reapplying every so often or when i start to feel really hot in a spot

Re: Sunscreen

I've never asked myself this question as I am of the 'find the highest spf available, hopefully equivalent to lead paint' school.

But I would take at least 30, no matter what your skin is like.

I would bring like a 45 and also like a 15.

when me and FH went to Dominican we had to buy 45 since it was strong! Im like you and only get a little red. Thats why I say bring both.

Re: Sunscreen

i'm really fair skinned. i use seperate sunblock for face and body.

i use arbonne baby sunblock on my face actually.

i usually start the summer off with 45 then i start using 30 or 15

the rays are much stronger down there though.

yeah i'd play it safe. the last last last last thing you want on your honeymoon is to be burned to a crisp.

play it safe. especially the first few days.

ETA: and make sure FH does too. if he gets burned you know men are useless and he will be bit*hing about it for the reset of the trip.

I use spf 30 when we went away, I usually get a little red and then turns to tan

Re: Sunscreen

the sun is soooooooooo strong there and there is a nice breeze so it is easy to not realize how much sun you are getting. start with atleast 30... then if you are not a burner drop to nothing lower than 15!

Re: Sunscreen

I tan pretty easily and also go tanning. But....whenever going to the Caribbean I ALWAYS have to start out with at least a 30 for the first two days....if I don't I get burned to a crisp - and thats no fun. So...I would say start off for the first day or two at like 30/45, then gradually decrease the SPF. I never go below like a 15 while down there because the sun is so strong. Meanwhile - up here in NY during the summer I only use a 4...

HTH!

ALways use 30 or more on face.

Re: Sunscreen

Completely dependant on your and your FH's skin.

We both tan easily but might get a little red the first day when we are in the carribean so I always bring 15.

Re: Sunscreen

I do NOT burn easily, and in aruba, I burned my first day cuz i thought 'i dont burn!!! Oil me up!'

so now i put 30 on my face and shoulders....

once i get my base (first day) i keep 30 on my face, but MAYBE 15 on my shoulders, if that...

so the sun is strong there!!! use something, at least til u get ur base

Re: Sunscreen

I always use spf 45 (I'm afraid of wrinkles)
I still get really tan with 45

Re: Sunscreen

im like u i burn a little then tan. i use 60+ whatever's the highest of aveeno brand and if im in the sun for a week straight, i still get a tan and no burn. i buy tons of that stuff.

Re: Sunscreen

at least 30... you will still tan, i promise. i lifeguarded for years and used 45 multiple times a day and still got SUPER tan!

****word to the wise, watch your scalp!!! i went to aruba and diligently applied sunblock. we did a RV tour thing and i had a visor on... WORST SUNBURN on my part ever, hurt to shower, hurt to brush my hair, and then it looked like dandruff. wear a hat, regardless of how you think you look. ***
